On a highway, unpaved, going my way
You're so alone today
Like a ghost town, I've found
There's no belief, no salt in the sea
Is it true what they say? You can't behave
You gambled your soul away
Measuring your dreams of this life seems
Like the gristle of loneliness
Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
Like an ice age, nice days are on your way
Sipping the golden drinks
On a rip-tide, freak's ride
Asleep inside, a parasite's appetite
Oh, say can't you see? The chemistry
The parasites, the clean up fee
Death never hands recycled cans
And get well cars to the hostage vans
Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
You're a deadweight, right straight on your way
Sunk in the midnight shade
Skies burned, eyes turned
Learning to counterfeit their disease
In this town where we roam
We bluff our souls on canteen patios
Drink the bravest drauft
The music drags
The music drags
The music drags
Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
You're so alone today
Like a ghost town, I've found
There's no belief, no salt in the sea

I wonder if he had to pay Jerry Marsden for the use of his "Don't let the sun catch you cry'n"" line? After all Chuck Berry sued John Lennnon over "Here comes old flat top".
"He moved to New York City in 1989 and became involved in the city's anti-folk movement. Returning to Los Angeles in the early 1990s..."
Beck did an internship in New York? He's awesome anyway :)

not on my originally purchased odelay album(1996). it's on the reissued deluxe version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Haven't heard this since the 1990s. Refreshing, and has some of that 70s psychedelic California groove. I remember at the time, everyone was razor focused on "Where It's At" and "Loser" and not some of these other tracks.
I love how Beck can take an era and sum it up better than it sums up itself.
groovy... sounds like it could have come off a Donovan album
i see Luscious Jackson on the list of this OST.... brilliant outfit
Still the same lousy beck NEXT
never heard of this movie or track. thanks rp for 'new' beck.
I let the sun catch me laughing, i'm broken in thousand bits of joy
Yep, definitely an overlooked gem from Mr. Hansen... Ranks with some of his best, I'd argue, which is really saying something, of course... Looking forward to hearing it again.
When are you ever going to play this track, Bill?
One of Beck's greatest Non-Album tracks.
Hey...is he the oldest of the Hansen brothers group?
The ones that did "Mbop".
They kinda look like brothers.
