I took my love, I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Til the landslide brought it down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Well, I've been afraid of changing cause I've
Built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older, too

Well, I've been afraid of changing cause I've
Built my life around you
Time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older, too
I get older, too

I took my love and took it down
I climbed a mountain, I turned around
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
The landslide brought it down
The landslide brought it down

I am very surprised with all the negative comments. A solid 10 to counter it all.
Woof. very unnecessary cover and not original enough from the Smashing Pumpkins to make it any different than the original, which is a masterpiece. Nothing about this cover warrants listening to it over the original, which I'm aware is a tall order but still.
1998, Stevie Nicks shared her thoughts on the cover Smashing Pumpkins. She  shared that Billy( Corgan had contacted her about the song. Nicks said: “There’s nothing more pleasing to a songwriter than [someone else] doing one of their songs. [‘Landslide’] also led me to being friends with Billy [Corgan] and the possibility that we’ll work together.” She added: “Over this song, there’s been this incredible connection … he reached out … I believe that my poetry is really meant for everyone, no matter what age.”

Awful singing.
I loved this song back in the day. It hit just right.
Oh my… this terrible 😣
Truly horrible. The bloke cannot sing.
What was it about this whiny voice that was so appealing to the generation, when it was released?
Well, I disagree with the comments here.  Raw and powerful.  Love Stevie's version the best for sure, but this is terrific.
99.9% percent of all covers published are just copies. Please stick to originals.
I have no respect for a band who could put out such a terrible cover of a beautiful song such as this. Poorly played and sung. What were they thinking. Sounds like a bad cover band at a dive bar.
Hmmmm I don't like to be negative . . .  so I'll just say. . . nope . .got nothin' .....
The only reason to play this is to let people talk about how much they like the real thing.
Sorry.  Not quite.
You know, I like a good cover if it explores a song in a new way. Sometimes an artist has something interesting to add. But this cover? It's utter shite. I'd love to hear versions of the song by Stevie, but The Smashing Pumpkins has absolutely nothing worthwhile to add to this song. I have no idea why you keep playing this cut.
Ugly, unnecessary version of a real classic! Not worth any time that was put into it. Disgusting! Seems they missed entire beauty of the song!
You can NEVER replace Stevie Nicks.....
Sometimes cover songs are better than the original. Often I'm left wondering why a performer bothered to cover something when they have nothing positive to add. This version sucks compared to the original.

Okay - not reading other comments, just giving my personal opinion here. Smashing Pumpkins should stick to their own stuff. As far as I'm concerned, Stevie and Lindsay are the only ones who can pull this song off, and their best version of it is on "The Dance." Poignant, playful, and intimate. More so, given what they've been through, survived, and accepted. Stevie's gently teasing "Well, maybe..." and the look exchanged between her and Lindsay... Maybe... Smashing Pumpkins lived up to their name's image. They smashed this song.

I think Billy Corgan's vocals justify the lyrics more than those of the original
Always liked the original, this is a nice tip of the hat to those that have paved the way.
like nails on a chalkboard
 +1

Not particularly fond of this song, but I'm pretty sure it's off Pisces Iscariot (track 9), not Siamese Dream.
nothing special here...I'd much rather hear some SP original ballads than this.
