Night-time is falling on the Louvre.
It's been a lazy afternoon.
We walk to the house, the air is clear,
The water's still moving in the pool.
You say One word.
The same One sound.
Thing It makes
Again. the world go 'round.
One word; You'll see
We fight. you can't win -
We're in the same place
A game. but not the same spin.
Let it all If it fades away,
Fade away. I don't mind.
We were miles away, we were miles away,
We were miles and miles away.
Remember this oil by Augustus John?
These are the ones I found in Rome.
There are few things I keep for long.
When does your plane leave for Cologne?
I recall One word -
The train - I saw -
People danced that's all it took
Again. to turn them around.
One world Strange world,
We're in. no sound.
We'll find The same things
The same thing. are everywhere around.
Never mind... You'll see,
With time, with time
We'll dance again. we'll dance again.
If it all fades away... Let it all fade dancing away.
All the sounds I heard One word,
On a summer night, I found,
And the quiet words that's all it took
We exchanged. I felt to turn him around.
She was pulling back She watched.
To emphasize - He sighs.
I was falling He waits for
Into Mona Lisa's eyes. a touch of her eyes.
And she turned, And then
And she turned, she turns away.
She was far away. She won't let him
She was miles away. touch her any more today.
She was miles away.
She was so many miles away.

Still one of my favourite albums.

Orrible, just ORRIBLE!!!
Sorry, a rare RP dud in this listener's opinion. Sounds like a church gospel sing along.

Which part of John Cale or Brian Eno has David Byrne's voice?
on another note: How about some more stuff from his (Eno's) 70's vocal album's: Cindy Tells Me? Third Uncle?

I just don't get it. There have got to be PLENTY of Eno fans here. Guess that doesn't trump Bill's (Rebecca's?) possible(?) dislike.
Count me among the disgruntled Eno fans. I have a lot of his work at home, but there is so much I'd like to hear that I don't have. Another Green World is one I don't have. I am more into Ambient stuff. I would love to hear AGW though.

This is a great song, from a great album.

Yes, clearly they ripped this from David Byrne. Just like John Cale ripped off Mark Knopfler.
Like David Byrne, but less irritating. A nailed on Ho-Hum, whereas Byrne would have launched a leap for the mute button.

I think it was RP that rejected the uploaded song. We can't ban Bill and Rebecca from their own station, that would be a coup d'etat. Why was it rejected? Well, it's subjective and therefore difficult to understand. However, there have been cases where a song was originally rejected and latter it was successfully uploaded. So there is hope.
I counted at least 10 votes for Spinning Away in the 2 pages of comments. How does this voting thing work anyway? The people that reject such a beautiful song should be banned from RP not the song itself.

The album is all good. I like Crime in the Desert, especially: They took her ideas and left her behind.

Thanks for playing. I was a big fan of this album. Probably haven't heard this in 20 years. Reminds me of a different time and place.
Terrific disc.

Spinning Away is IMHO the best cut on the CD. Rejected, sadly.

better schedule mayself for another round of enosification!
Yet another "stop what I'm doing and stare in awe at my Computer" songs - not necessarily because of the quality of the song itself (there are better on the album), but that there is a radio station out there that would play it.
I agree with the comments below about Spinning Away and I'll throw Lay My Love and Been There Done That into the mix as songs that deserve regular play on this station. I only have this album on cassette, otherwise I would try to upload them as well.

Song is a 3, but the sheer cool of the collaboration knocks it up to a 7
Yay! I haven't heard this in a long time. Like unexpectedly seeing an old friend again. I like the music these guys make (Before and after Science)

I think I sense a trend.
I had the privelege meeting Mr. Eno as I was grabbing a sandwich before a lecture he was giving at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. I offered him a ride to the venue, but he had that covered. A mild and gentle gentleman.
I dont get John Cale.
Love this song, thanks RP!
Cool tune, I wasn't a big Roxy Music fan but this is kind of nice. Did like the whole Ambient sounds thing (not to mention Frippertronics!!)
a transcendant glimpse of wonderment at this
I love Spinning Away from this album
Eno has such a great voice
Thanks for the pep I was waiting for.
Wonderful! Now if we could only get some tracks from John Cale's "Words For The Dying" on here--it was produced by Eno.

I stumbled across this album about 6 years ago. This is simply a great album reflecting a strong musical partnership. It may not be as "challenging" as some other work the artists have released individually but it certainly is enjoyable. It's nice to see serious artists that can make excellent pop, too!

Like it.
Glad to hear RP playing more Eno (and Cale)!
Outstanding CD

This reminds me more of David Byrne, actually...
