I ain't here for fun
Can't be moved around
Maybe that means I can't
Give you a good time
I could spend my time
Looking at you
But as long as you're striving
I've got to do that too
Hard for you to know
I'm dripping of love
Hard to defend
I'm only dreaming of love
I'm not here to make
My voice heard
Maybe that makes me smaller
In this world
I could spend my time
Wishing I was like you
But if you think my life
Looks alright, i'll think so too
Can't be moved around
Maybe that means I can't
Give you a good time
I could spend my time
Looking at you
But as long as you're striving
I've got to do that too
Hard for you to know

IMHO, There should be rules about people writing lyrics in a language other than their own.

Everybody knows Bill is but an elaborate and delicately, but not perfectly honed algorithm. Just like the rest of us. Sometimes a specific song might trigger the same sets of operations as before. Evoking an identical, or near identical, emotional response and association to another song. We are still half-machines. This is what will differentiate us from (possibly) future generations. The same sensory input producing a novel experience and intellectual output every time. Total creativity. Perhaps.
I have come to think Bill is a radio genius.

So, after the first piano chord I thought it was "Cirkus" by King Crimson.
Well, it wasn't.
Well, it wasn't.

^No. But I can attest to the fact that some of us grow weary of hearing nothing but incessant whining and derision from you for almost all music choices here on RP. Of course, everybody is fully entitled to their opinion on any given piece of music, but all you seem to do calle01 is bitch, bitch, bitch. This fact is clearly demonstrable with a glance at your ratings distribution. What remains beyond my grasp is why exactly you continue to listen to a station that you obviously have such a passionate dislike for. Baffling.
Thumbs up to you Jlan! Well said...

Jeeeeze!
Is anyone else tired of the incessant, irritating, depressing, sad girl voices that stream RP?
There has got to be better music out there for Bill to choose from?? WTF!!

it's ok but how to top landslide - not even in the same ball park
needed something like Joan Baez doing a Dylan song or Carlie Simon or etc.. you get my point !

She does an amazing version of Dylan's "Most of the Time" on the soundtrack to "Masked and Anonymous."
Sweden rules..........again
Enough with the whispering female singers, already.
Yeah hard to tell if it strikes me as an 8 because Landslide set a good tone.
It's impossible for me to be objective about this song after grooving to Stevie Nicks singing Landslide. No rating at this time.
But everyone at the Crematorium LOVES this song!!!

Still wish RP would rock harder and groove more, but nobody does romantic chick music better than Bill.

Amazingly coincidentally, I JUST now ordered her 5 CD collection. For an amateur, she sure gets it done — writing and singing.
This is really Shania Twain. She got dumped by her hubby, tired of country, and is starting over under a pseudonym.

So why do you perpetuate the comment by bringing it back to the top of the comments?
From the looks of it, Sophie can really crank out the _hits. "Grruntt!"

I am a fan of Half.com, however, if you like comparing prices online for books, music and other media items, I recommend addall.com. It checks almost everywhere the item is available for you.

Darn, I thought RP had slipped this one through the cracks.
ah sophie!
I can't listen to this song without humming Terry Stafford's "Suspicion". The piano cords seem the same and the melody is nearly the same. The two songs can be laid over each other.
Not that I remember songs from the early 60s...
All her cd`s are O U T S T A N D I N G !

Not flattering for the quality of the song!!
Classy, very classy.
Sexy sexy sexy ...
Sounds like karaoke to Chinese restaraunt muzak.
saw her live in Hamburg this year, she's so cool ... great song!
This is nice.
Now here is a song that only sounds better every time you play it. I have heard this a hundred times, yet I still turn up the volume more each time.
Great addition to your playlist
CD cover looks like she's taking a dump in the woods!!!!
Had the exact same thought before seeing the comments. Very, very funny.
"I'm not here.... to make my voice heard...."
Boy, that's for sure

she is doing just that. the quality of the song? what quality?
When this song starts, I think I'm hearing the one by Holly Golightly w/ The Greenhornes. Replace the piano with a telecaster and they're identical in style and melody.
Hey you. See you Saturday!

Talk about unintended consequences. Thanks for giving me that enduring image in my mind. Ugghhh, ugghhh, ugghhhhhhh.....
Some people are just very, very bad....
Does she ever actually hold a note? Forgettable...
