I get it with Bonham. Very good drummer that create a unique hard rnr sound. 


But Mr. Moon  is the greatest rnr drummer.  Every single Who song, you can hear something unique about his drumming. You can't say the same about Bonham. Like on this song. His drumming is OK, but not Moon-like.

Led Zep will always be my favorite all time band. There are some close seconds but none like the Zep.

This album is awesome, definitely my favorite, especially the second album. Let's go Boogie with Stu and a Black Country Woman In the Light Down by the Seaside before you know it Ten Years Gone.

Not a Zep fan really...but I have the utmost respect for this amazing band. I really appreciate what they contributed to the Rock scene in the late 60s, 70s and 80s. We will never hear this kind of musicianship or writing ever again in the mainstream. {#Notworthy}

Not my favorite Zep by a stretch.  Only two ways to go with this one.  Turn it up or mute it. 

This is one song that does not allow passive listening.  It just sucks you in.

I purchased all the major box sets for Zeppelin such that I have their entire catalog. My conclusion: With the exception of a handful of tracks, Zeppelin didn't put out a bad song. Pretty amazing considering the volume of music they recorded.

This is not a favorite of mine, but "Kashmir" is.
Re 2003 vs. 2011: not that much different to me; some outstanding stuff from each era and mostly really lousy stuff from both eras. Sort of like every era. IMHO, mind you.

I just searched for the lyrics for Trampled Underfoot.  I looked at three different sites.  Each one came back with slightly different words.  I get the point, in any case, but it would be interesting to know what the "official" lyrics are.  Were there ever liner notes for this song?

Actually, this is Robert Johnson - Terraplane Blues. I assume you are referring to the hook of course. The link indicates that this was a LZ tribute to the original which used a Terraplane as a metaphor for sexuality and infidelity. The entry for this song references The Complete Guide to the Music of Led Zeppelin as indicating that, yes this is a song about sex :-)

I should have done a quick lyrics search.   My actual problem was that I couldn't understand a damned word he's saying.  It's only too obvious seeing it in print.  Had they had lyrics-search in the 70's, I probably would have spent less time in the garage.

Odd how I automatically do a lyrics-search for any song recorded after 1995.  For anything before The Internets, I just assume the only way to figure out the lyrics is to put my finger on the record to slow it down a little bit, or ask my stoned friends.

Spring 1975. I was 12 and this was their single. So Trampled was my first hearing of LZ. There are better and worst songs in their catalogue. Still Trampled remains as a special one for me...

i first heard trampled underfoot on the douvle dvd eeeeverybody bought instantly when it was released. it's the live version from 1975, earl's court ( i almst typed earl grey ). i always loved funk music, and that's what i call pure funk, even if some sure like to call iot disco i don't give a "beeep". and i love to see jimmy play like a chilkd on his flying les paul. it's what music is supposed to be according to me, just fun. well ,to sum it all up, i like the song, even the slower version, that is to say the studio take from physical graffiti. that was my first post here. and my favorite led zep album is houses of the holy.
