Help comes when you need it most
I'm cured for laughter
Mood swings not sure I can cope
My life's in plaster (in plaster)

May your mind set you free
(Opened by the wonderful)
May your heart lead you on
May your mind let you breathe all of disaster
(Opened by the wonderful)
May your heart lead you on

These wounds are all self-imposed
Life's no disaster, disaster
All roads lead unto death-row
Who knows what's after?

May your mind be wide open
May your heart beat strong
May your mind's will be broken
By this heart-felt song
May your mind set you free
(Be opened by the wonderful)
May your heart lead you on
May your mind let you breathe all of disaster
(Be opened by the wonderful)
May your heart lead you on, may your heart lead you on
May your eyes let you see all of disaster
May your heart lead you on, lead you on
(May your eyes be opened by the wonderful)

Set you free
(May your heart lead you on)
Lead you on

James is mediocre garbage. "My your heart lead you on"? Come on, Jimmy.

it's MAY your heart, his name is Tim not Jimmy, and sooo sorry that he's not always cynical and bitter like most moody rock icons.

Well done, Gednabb!! {#Clap}

Also, heard a BRAND FREAKING NEW single last night on the CBC... Be there possibly a new tour approaching?

I'M IN!!!
catchy

Outrageously stupid? You mean, like Death Cab for Cutie? Or Toad the Wet Sprocket? How about Godsmack?

Those are generally more memorable names than "James".  I don't think any of them are particularly stupid names though.  The first two names you listed also have connections to Monty Python, so there's that.
Never enough James!
I always wondered why he said " be opened by the wonder horse"   So I'm kinda sad to see the lyrics
Yes! So good to hear this track off a great album.

Surprising that a band with the outrageously stupid name "JAMES"
is able to produce rather fine music!

With a different name they might have had a better career, I bet!

JAMES...? Ridiculous - really!

Preachy song, but positive and tuneful. Cool '60ish groove.
This is killing me.....9
great vibe!
Love these guys.  Was lucky enough to see them a couple times.... great live shows.
Would be great to hear Out To Get You, underrated song that be!
This is a good song but "Ring the Bells" and "Laid" are even better. Also check out the album Tim Booth (lead singer of James) did with Angelo Badalamenti (music composer for most of david Lynch's films). Great stuff. It's called 'Booth and the Bad Angel".
THIS DUDES GIRLFRIENDS ONLY cum WHEN THEY ARE ON TOP
background vocals remind me of the Moody Blues!

James!! {#Daisy}
A nice happy little song.

I prefer the live version.

This has got to be the only band I've ever heard that I consistently find annoyingly enjoyable to listen to.  Seriously, never before have I experienced a group who cause such diametrically opposed reactions in me.          {#Bounce}{#Frustrated}  {#Bounce} {#Frustrated}  {#Bounce}

digging this a lot.
and the cover...batik? wow. i want that.

Great little pop song. Well done! :-)
I can see why some folks wouldn't care for dude's voice, but I for one, enjoy this tune to an extent. I think it's the drums. Catchy. 6.
more James mate... yeah!
good little tune..
I always like this band. Good song

Been a big James fan for ages. I'm partly sad they're no more, but on the other end they ended it on a high, and that's way better than drifting into mediocricy, like so many other bands....
HELP COMES WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST I'M CURED BY LAUGHTER
Nope. I've tried, but something about the pitch of his voice makes me feel ill. Strange. It shouldn't be so offensive! -mute-

Wow, what a great program this afternoon. Since noon to now just fantastic!

So that was it then? Any spin offs, or solo work?
Tim Booth was last spotted being an extra in 'Batman Begins'. No idea about the rest of them.

Um, how come the "Best of James Taylor" album is up on top of this commentary?
Seeing JT's big mug (courtesy of the new, HUGE album covers from the site upgrade) gave me one of the biggest laughs in a long time! Note to uploaders: to avoid this problem, look up how Amazon lists the title of the album before editing your final tag. The actual title is The Best of James not "The Best Of...."
I quite like this song! something about it is really good! :-) more more more! PLEASE?? with a cherry on top
i miss this band...
Meh.

A Top Live band - I saw them in Portsmouth UK, supported by Radiohead some time back... a great gig.. After Laid, it went south a bit and they (in my personal opinion) never regained themselves after the Album 'Seven'. As I said, Top Live Band.
have you heard "pleased to meet you"? their last album? I thought it was up to their old standards.

I'm guessing because Amazon's web services are unable to tell between the 2 James's...

It's OK but not nearly as good as "Laid" or "Ring the Bells" or even "Government Walls."
I can't believe you're playing this song!!! This is my favorite James song!!!! You rock--This isn't my favorite version, but, hey....

I love this band so much. Great melodies, great arrangments, Tim Booth's lyrics are always fascinating. I wish they were more appreciated here in the US and that I could've seen them live before they broke up. :(
They were really great live; I saw them at the WOMAD festival at Cal State Dominguez Hills when "Laid" was fairly popular (10 or 11 years ago?). They played the second stage and we opted to see them instead of Ziggy Marley. High energy! Thank you to the person who uploaded this. The comments seem to be favorable so you don't have to face the comment firing squad.
Sorry, didn't care for it.

This is definately not James Taylor. Though in fairness this is the first James song that doesn't make me want to slap him.
Very cool, Bill. I've enjoyed James' music for years.
