Won't be back no more
Goin' back down south, child
Don't you want to go?
Woman I'm troubled, I be all worried in mind
Well baby I just can't be satisfied
And I just can't keep from cryin'.
Well I feel like snappin'
Pistol in your face
I'm gonna let some graveyard
Lord be your resting place
Woman I'm troubled, I be all worried in mind
Well baby I can never be satisfied
And I just can't keep from cryin'.
Well now all in my sleep
Hear my doorbell ring
Looking for my baby
I couldn't see not a doggone thing
Woman I was troubled, I was all worried in mind
Well honey I could never be satisfied
And I just couldn't keep from cryin'.
Well I know my little old baby
She gonna jump and shout
That old train be late man, Lord
And I come walking out
I be troubled, I be all worried in mind
Well honey ain't no way in the world could we be satisfied
And I just can't keep from crying.
Cool. Saw him open for Clapton in Brussels in 76 or 77. Clapton couldnt keep up.
Saw him open -- get ready - he opened for Ted Nugent. He was hypnotic. All I remember of Ted Nugent was that people were spitting on him from the floor and he was spitting back at them. I'm dating myself, I know since I was lucky enough to see him as a teenager, so unexposed to good music that I bought concert tickets to a Ted Nugent concert.
Thank you, LP.
Guess there are some very different opinions as to what it means to 'matter'.
Johnny Winter was da best at everything he did. Period.
And unless you saw him live I don't want any arguments.

I wish people could figure out how to reply to comments. It's really quite simple.
Anyway, the only part of the comment above that I actually wrote was "Thank you, LP", which was a reply to LowPhreak's comment, pointing out that there are lots of great white blues players out there. Yeesh.
I can name several white blues players who mattered just as much as JW. Jesus get over the provincial mindset.

What's going on with the title of the song and the album?
I thought RP was a clean and wholesome radio station...like its listeners.
Maybe it was a very early Viagra slogan....? LONG (hehehe) Live RP!!

% At George's office, Carl enters
George: May I help you?
Carl: I'm the exterminator.
George: Oh, yes of course, come in.
Carl: Why didn't you want me to bring my equipment or wear my uniform?
George: Yes, well, if the other people in the office saw that I called an exterminator, they would just panic. Besides, this is sort of a friendly visit. Carl, right?
Carl: Do I know you?
George: Yeah, sure, we met at Jerry Seinfeld's apartment. When you fumigated for fleas over there.
Carl: Seinfeld... Oh yeah, funny white guy, right?
George: Jerry? Yes, I suppose he is white. You know, I never really thought about it. I don't see people in terms of color. You know, there's someone I'd like you to meet. Hang on... (To phone) Is Mr. Morgan in?
Phone: Mr. Morgan left for dinner.
George: He left... huh... Carl, you hungry?
Oh i dunno... Gregg Allman? Charlie Musselwhite? John Mayall? Johnny Winter can play but his voice is horrible....
Harsh. We brits would always have a spot for Eric Clapton (a.k.a slowhand or God) in the blues pantheon.
bit of wisdom indeed!
just YES!! YES!! YES!!
Happy Birthday Muddy Waters!!
That "Captured Live" album has the definitive version of several of Johnny's songs, including "Roll With Me", "Bony Maronie", "Rock and Roll People", "It's All Over Now", "and "Highway 61 Revisited". I think any or all of these would be a good fit here. I've been jammin' that album for 34 years, and it never gets old!
Album: John Dawson Winter III, cut entitled "Stranger In This Town" might make the upload.
With all due respect, you got it backwards, sir. ("An ass pocket of whiskey." Great line!)
I have tried to add some Johnny Winter to the library, but the good people on LRC rejected him. Time to try again.

I remember when I was in my early teens, and pretty much the only stuff I listened to was metal.
My father was a potter, and I remember his apprentice listening to some interesting music.
So I asked him to make some tapes for me.
The first handful of cassettes he gave me consisted of The Grateful Dead, The Band, John Lee Hooker, and Muddy Waters.
From my first listen, I was hooked on all of them.
I recall listening to that Muddy Waters over and over again as I rode the bus to school.
That stuff changed my life!
Was your father's name Harry?
Harry (the)Potter

I have Muddy Waters late '60's envy =/
Because they can?

Amen to that!
