I don't think Rosa Parks' coolness was being called into question, I believe it was a gender-specific term which was being contested: "Dude" ordinarily refers to a male - as does "guy".  Also, I don't believe she carried a hand-gun ("packed heat") in those days.  I guess I'm just being too literal.

Um, Rosa Parks was not a cool dude.

Also, Prince may be brilliant, creative, admirable, and so forth, but he is not a particularly cool dude, either on or off stage (I've been backstage).  He's probably a cool dude when he's having Thanksgiving dinner at the Nelsons' in Edina, Minnesota, but otherwise, like most egomaniacs, he has trouble pulling off the cool dude thing.  I would asterisk Bob Dylan's name for the same reason.  Bowie pulls it off, and Mick sort of does.

Also, to ellenaut the literalist, the song really is "Mairzy Doats."  But it looks like your decoder ring is working just fine.

You can name a ton of cool folks, but Joe Strummer was a founding member one of the coolest bands ever, The Clash. Plus, this is a very cool song.

It's a Saturday afternoon, and the weather is idyllic. I'm going to a house-warming party for some friends who share the same Left-of-center politics that I do. There are gonna be some f*ck-head Right-wingers there to talk sh*t to, as well!

Sandman was standing at the bar doing shots and smoking so casually I didn't realize it was him. Finished his last shot and walked over to the stage. Coooooooollllll. And alot of this stuff is very good. His new stuff is more mature. The Clash is raw, elemental, the basic building blocks of rock and roll gathered up, tossed out, and laid out in new and interesting patterns for our public consumption. Long Live Joe Strummer!
