With my head in the clouds.
I hit this corner,
with my foot on the gas,
I started sliding, I'm losing.
Everything's different.
Just like that.
Oh my God,
Wait and see,
What will soon become of me.
Frozen hearts, screaming wheels,
Does that screaming come from me?
So damn lucky,
That you went on ahead.
You say, you say
'I'll see you later.'
I heard what you said in few minutes later.
I'm sliding.
Everything's different, again.
Oh my God.
Wait and see,
What will soon become of me.
Frozen hearts, screaming yields,
Does that screaming come from me?
I'm dizzy from all this spinning.
Now I'm thinking,
That you did all you could,
When you said 'my love, take it slowly.'
'Okay' is what I said.
Oh my God.
Wait and see,
What will soon become of me.
This Frozen heart and screaming yields.
Does that screaming come from me?
Take me back,
To just before I was spinning
Take me back,
Just before I got dizzy
Take me back,
Its amazing what a minute can do
Take me back,
to just before I was spinning
It's just like you
Round Round Round..(etc)
It's amazing what a minute can do
Round Round Round...
Ok is what I say
Seems like DMB is the "Coldplay" of the jam band genre.
I was about to say the same. He's ok but I don't get the level of worship in some quarters. There are many better.
So, I read through the comments looking for something about the lyrics. Pretty dark about someone about to die in a car crash, as I interpreted them.
But what I found instead was a massive debate about whether DM/DMB is a god or tired and not cool at all.
Got me thinking - loved his first several albums. Over time, I drifted to other music, but I still personally like his stuff.
But nothing seems to have captured better than this Onion article how Dave Matthews Band went from the cool alternative band everyone was listening to to something that, for reasons I still don't get, became scorned at worst, meh at best:

(Yes, I still remember reading that article in a coffee shop 17 years ago)
The Onion is sometimes SO spot on...
His voice is like a lazy 19th century surgeon who takes a coffee break in the middle of your amputation.
That's funny. I like bad reviews on RP especially when someone takes the time to write more than "it sucks"
I think he's the luckiest white boy to ever pick up a guitar.
I think a lot of singers like him should continue to work on their technique but they get complacent because, why develop it? I've made millions off of this quirky warble of mine!

It's funny, I don't get DMB at all...but then again, I'm a Deadhead and fan of Phish, so I'm open to understanding there's something I'm not getting

The OP doesn't know. They just thought it sounded cute, pithy, and made them sound more intelligent. It didn't work.

And if this music gig doesn't work out he can always become an auctioneer at a square dance.
The next album Crash came....much more commercialized. #41 was good....
Then I lost all interest....same sounds....over and over....actually became annoying to listen to....can't listen to them anymore.
No hate....their sound is just worn out.
You forgot to mention DMB's best album, Before These Crowded Streets.
Awful, pretentious noodling
Release the Dave Matthews haters!
--Yeah, we're out here, just flyin' around, and waiting for the song to end..

he was in a car accident?
No, though life did get really crazy for a while there. And we stuck it out.
he was in a car accident?
what if the answer were yes?
he was in a car accident?
PS - Release the Dave Matthews haters!
But to me, this version is a the tiniest bit grocery store muzak style....a bit too slick. The version of this on Live at Radio City Music Hall is soo much more raw and powerful, I think.
LOL, I was just thinking, "hey a Dave Matthews song that I can tolerate ..." a real breakthrough! :-D
Great song from a great album! Dave's songs can be too challenging for some, but I love the creativity.
