I feel for the light
Your glory was lost that night
And no mind can't get me right
And now I'm praying that you'll find me out
Stone, stone has pulled me down
But my faith has got me bound to your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

Don't forget my broken heart
You remember it from the start
You made it and it's all a part
Of your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

You're gone and I know I'm dead
I've lost my way
Can't find me in your grey blue eyes
Grey blue eyes
Grey blue eyes
Grey blue eyes

:-) Cute. But I take joy in expressing my opinions, favorable or not.
This is the only Dave Matthews song I've heard that I like.
You guys should lighten up. Just because lots of people like it doesn't mean it's bad. That said, I'm not much of a fan of his stuff anymore. I used to buy every album, but I haven't in a long while. I may buy this solo album. The only other album of his I actually like listening to is Remember Two Things. If you've never heard it (his first one), you owe yourself that. It's primo, soulful, and is decidedly not over-produced. Especially check out the last half of the album, Minarets on.
I used to like DMB, until Clear Channel played each and every one of his tunes a quintillion times. Now, my home and car are "DMB free zones".
Um... I'm not a Dave fan, but this is worse than his typical fare. Just sounds like a whole bunch of moaning and whining.

This is horrible. Why is he making sounds like that? I've never felt the pull that DM seems to exert over so many people, though I respect the skill of the musicians he surrounds himself with. With all those talented folks he collaborates with, there's just no excuse for this poorly crafted and even worsely excecuted song.

No Thank You. Leave the pained moaning to Springsteen.

You mean, sing?

Stop banging your head and rather give thanks! <-o<

Sounds good to me. From what I've heard so far, this album has a varied mix and breaks new ground. Don't know if I'll like it more than my old DMB albums but I'd rather something new than too much of the same thing.

Maybe because it's all dark, heavy, and depressing sounding. Man what happened to the up DM - this stuff just puts me in a funk.

Agreed!

I really enjoy this song (which is why I uploaded it!). It reminds me of some of the stuff on Bruce Cockburn's "Nothing But a Burning Light".
I give him props for trying a different style. Sounds a bit like Peter Gabriel, but it is not one of my faves.
This is the only Dave Matthews song I've ever liked. Sorta a mix of Bruce and Tom Waits...

Serendipity or something. I was just thinking--for a guy who can't sing, he sure likes to croon.
This song is the reason I'm not buying "Some Devil". Too bad, Dave, but this REALLY sucks!

It's a haunting sounding one, but I like it.
Hmm. Well. Boy. That stunk.
Moan & slur. Not his best.
Try clearing your throat, Dave.
This is one of my favorite songs off of Some Devil and one that Dave wrote directly with Trey Anastasio. COOL. Very good stuff. I wish I had grey blue eyes.
