I took my 18-year old son to the 25th Anniversary show of Mezzanine in San Francisco, and across the 35 years that separate us, we both felt it was the best show we had seen & heard. They played the entirety of the album, plus enough of Protection and Blue Lines to captivate us for more than 2.5 hours without a break. I hope to see them again.
Killer album. Still on my heavy rotation list.
There is a great live performance of this track and a few others in the same recording session on Youtube - do a search, it's worth it! I don' have the link or I'd put it here.

I was such a music snob for so many years. Only listened to prog bands forever.

After all these years, still...just...wow! 
Here's a great article about how the song became a "hit" in the US, but only as far as the House MD show. MA was never as popular in the US as elsewhere. They made the deal for House, MD to use the song, but were paid virtually nothing for it. The reasoning by the band was that it would help them break into the US market. However, that didn't happen, either.
The article talks about how Jeff Buckley was the inspiration for the singer, Elizabeth Fraisier, who was chosen after the band voted to ditch Madonna: The Truth About The House, M.D. Theme Song Incidentally and oddly, there's no mention about, or crediting MA with the "House, MD theme song" on Wikipedia's page about Massive Attack. Although they are a "Massive hit" in the UK, not so much in the US.
I voted it a 9 -- since I always loved House, as well as the opening theme song, even if only the first 20 seconds.

I have probably said this before but very few bands/artistes get to say they changed the direction of popular music. Among the very obvious ones. I'd include Massive Attack.

I still remember the ripples that went through my musical world in the mid 90s when Portishead and Massive Attack brought their delicious grit and grime into play and turned my tastes in electronica and aetherea from bands like Tangerine Dream and Cocteau Twins in the direction of what would become TripHop, DnB etc. Still sublime decades later.

Well I listen to RP 3 out of 5 days every week 9 to 5 and I have not heard this 5 times in the month you refer to. You see Bill has an automated system (albeit with algorithms and segues) and it plays 24/7/365 so unless you listen all day and all night every day you are unlikely to hear the multiple plays.
Either that or Massive Attack is following you - watch out its behind you!

I think we're all patiently a-waiting BillG taking you up on this! And I will say that I'm VERY surprised not only with the high overall rating (esp. considering over 4000 ratings) and the fact it gets played a lot (5 times last 30 days) still and few comments about how "overplayed" it is.
Probably cuz this shit bumps and sounds great with headphones or awesome sound systems.
