Lost your head
Now you sleep on the floor
What you said
I don't want anymore
Through the haze
Make your eyes up to ache
Out in space
Days away
Through these eyes
I rely on all I've seen
Obscured
Through these eyes
Looks like I'm home tonight
Left for dead
As you sweep out the door
Things we said
We don't mean anymore
Tear inside her
Like a fallen kite
Hah, hah, hah, hey, hey, yeah
Through these eyes
I deny on all I see
Obscured
Through these eyes
Looks like I'm home tonight
What you said
Made a mess of me
What you said
I don't want
Obscured
Now you sleep on the floor
What you said
I don't want anymore
Through the haze
Make your eyes up to ache
Out in space
Days away
Through these eyes

So many nights falling asleep to this in my late teens..wonderful
The Pumpkins had a wonderful range of style and I loved it all. This is a fantastic album that this wonderful song is from.
Sorry, but I automatically hit the skip button whenever I hear that voice.

Good song.
the trilby is made of felt hence no gloss shine, the "metal top hat" is pre 1968 and made from silk which has a sheen. The last silk plush top hat factory in the world - then located in Lyons, France - was permanently closed in 1968. Thereafter top hats made from felt

I think Corgan was/is a violent minded punk and that inspired a prolific period of great creative activity in the 90s. I love the Pumpkins and consider Siamese Dream, Mellon and Adore, to be great pieces of work, whiny voice and all. It sort of suits, but I can understand how it could grate with some.
But then I don't like Men Without Hats.

Nice tune. Underrated in my opinion. Should be played on a more regular basis.
Thanks Bill for todays amazing playlist.

It might mean more if you hadn't also given a 10 to 5167 other songs.
Wow a great segue from Bach Cello Suite! Who knew?! .......well except Bill of course. ...One of my favorite SP tunes.
Ahhh...longing for the old lineup.

This was originally on the "Today" single. It made it onto a lot of my mix tapes back then...

What?
Sure it's easy to poke fun at "Safety Dance".
But the genius that is "Pop Goes the World"?
Come on.

I love the genius that is Smashing Pumpkins. Love Zeitgeist (2007) the best; there's actually a tarentella on it.
Do bands even release singles anymore? When this came out I had all the singles and b sides. I had a nice compilation of b sides and rarities that I owned recorded on something called a cassette tape... The song "Siamese Dream" on vinyl was one of my favorites.

LOL but no need to apologise for your own tastes. For me "Birdcage in your Soul", "West End Girls", are songs that exhibit an irritating nasal, lispy whine that I struggle to get past.

I'm sorry, I can't get past that nasal, whiny voice. No matter how civilized the song is, he sounds like a violent-minded punk to me.

that may be true, but's why we talk about albums and not just collections of singles, no?
i luuuvvv this song... dreamy

I remember laughing on my ass when I everybody made a big deal about this new album called "Mellon-Collie and the Infinite Sadness". Yeah, real deep and clever. A name a freshman art student would come up with in a moment of juvenile inspiration.
But you are really deep, aren't you?
It's just an album name, nothing more, nothing less.
thank you, thank you, thank you!
I dig this, never heard this before.

He also wrote Take Me Down on MCatIF and The Bells on the 33 single. Cool low-key songs seem to be his specialty.
There's also "...Said Sadly" with Nina Gordon, "Believe," "The Boy," and "Go".
Definitely check out his solo album "Let it Come Down" if you like his work. It's alternative country in a sense... kind of like Whiskeytown. Quite a departure from the Pumpkins, but a great album anyway.

It's so funny how the Pumpkins are such a love/hate band. People new to their material either like the song, or don't. People that have known about them for years either love the band, or hate them. Rarely will I see an "eh, they were ok" kind of comment. By the way, The song James wrote for Pisces was "Blew Away." Blue is a b-side from Gish and one of my favorite SP songs. Obscured is an outstanding acoustic rock song.

Pisces is actually one of my favorite Pumpkin albums...James Iha actually wrote some of the tunes (Blue)...which makes the album a bit more dynamic than other pumpkins albums.....not that there's anyhting wrong with Billy Corigan.....he's still a god....but to hear something a little different from the Pumpkins is a good thing.
I never liked they guys. I thought they were pretentious, self-absorbed and not nearly as clever or deep as they thought they were.

This is not what I expected from Smashing Pumpkins, or the image I had of them. Very nice. I like it, but then I'm a sucker for acoustic guitar...
I usually hate this guy's voice but it's rather nice when he's mellow and not screeching. This is a very nice tuneâ"the first SP song that I have enjoyed. No, I haven't heard their music other than here at RP. I'm sure they have lots of nice tunes I would enjoy.
Perfect late night chillin' out mood, takes me back, now if only something off of gish would come up next

Pisces Iscariot is a cool album. I definitely enjoy the mellow side to Smashing Pumpkins.
Now this is more like it. Kinda Floyd-ish. V. nice...
I like the pumpkins soft stuff just as much as there louder stuff, great tune. :)
excellent choice - brings me back to my younger days
wonderful to mellow out to-brings back memories. Please play more Pumpkins!

This was also on their b-sides album, Pisces Iscariot. I haven\'t heard this in a loooong time. Reminds me of my sophomore year in college. Thanks!
i love this one. it was far better than the a-side track \"Today\" - this is one of their more textural tracks. love it. :D
thanks Bill!!!
Pretty boring even for the Pumpkins.
