I heartily agree with the auto-skip idea (though I happen to like PG).  This would have two nice effects - listeners wouldn´t be bothered by music that they dislike enough to rate low, and there would be so much less whining/whinging about songs, since (only) the affected listeners wouldn´t hear them.  How about it Bill?  Should be an easy task...

Just want to say... If RP was down to me, it would be the poorer because of it!! There is such a VAST mix of music here and I'm not sure I'm 'open' enough to let all of it happen!!!

Just let Bill and Rebecca spin the discs (or file-stream the Flacs) and enjoy!

I've got so much new (to me) music off RP that it is AWESOME!!! Much of the material comes from the listeners anyway - so it's kind-of democratic...

While PG's "SO" album seems to be most widely embraced, this "US" album is my all time favorite. If you can find the time, listen to the WHOLE album end to end. It's quite a story diving deep into psychology, emotion, growing and evolving. It's Gabriel's most profound and personal album.

It is funny, interesting, amazing, to hear all these stories about how we go through difficult times with some music... I guess that is one of the magic things about music. I do have also music that, at some stage, help me through difficult times, and it is different for different ocassions. ... there is some kind of music for everybody that really connects with the soul and, somehow, makes you feel better (or at least not so bad),.. is it the same for everybody?

Nope, black321 has it right.  "Us" was released in 1992.  "OVO" came out in 2000.

That said, this isn't the '92 version.  Allmusic.com says the track appeared twice more: in '94 as a B-side to Lovetown and in '97 on a Huckleberry House 30th Anniversary disc.  I don't know which one wins the prize, but I'd bet this version is one of those.

This is NOT the album version of this song.  Anyone know where it's from?  I think I like the original better, but it may just be what I'm used to after hearing it hundreds of times.  This album, along with the "Telephone" live double disc, was road trip music for years.

Everything that I've heard off of this disc sounds the same to me. Now, before rolling your eyes and chastising me for failing to recognize genius, be aware that I have a long history listening to Peter. From Foxtrot through the Lamb to So, I've loved listening to Peter (and the rest of Genesis, yes). Well, I disagree. The problem is most people don't actually HAVE subwoofers. They have woofers masquerading as subwoofers. Subwoofers act below the range of a traditional woofer... below, say, 50hz or so. They provide the frequencies that are otherwise not heard. Here's an example of a true subwoofer: (click here) What people call 'subwoofers" in satellite/subwoofer speakers are just plain woofers. PLUS... people say they want "boom" when it comes to audio, and "boom" sounds like crap. Those silly car speakers you hear with the license plate rattling all over the place are "bandpass" woofers, which produce ONE NOTE bass... they are loud, but they are tuned to a specific frequency. Listen close, you'll hear lots of bass but only at a single narrow range of frequencies. If the bass always has the same "note" it's bandpass. It sounds like crap to anyone with good ears. The same thing with the little Bose "subwoofers." So anyway, subwoofers aren't evil. People who misuse subwoofers are! :)

PG is in my personal top 5. Easy. Probably top 2 if I were to think about it a little more. One of the great successes in my musical life is to introduce my wife to PG and have her love the music as much as I do.

C'mon guys, enough already with the references to the Genesis break up. That was more than 30 years ago!! Both Genesis and Gabriel have had phenomenal success since then. Genesis with Gabriel was great, but a few things have happened in the mean time. Like this song, which is beautiful.
