I really dig it.  Reminds me of other fusion bands like Red Baraat, or MacUmba.  The Celtic and Afro-Caribbean sounds just go so unexpectedly well together.  Like caramel and salt.  Can't get enough

Good call. Usually ACSS are a bit more 'spacey' than D2D, but in this song they've gone the full Indian hog.

For those wondering about D2B, have a neb at their website or track them down on Soundcloud. Well worth finding if you like your Bhangra Celtic-flavoured.

A tad off-topic there, Lazarus. As it happens, in Scottish Gaelic "lagan" means 'hollow', and is common amongst Highland placenames. See the excellent site Ainmean-àite na h-Alba (Placenames of Scotland). As the celtic section of the Afro-Celts are Irish or Scottish, I think it's more likely that it's this meaning of "lagan" that the song's about.

IIRC there's full credit given to Peter Gabriel on the CD cover (I'll have a look when I get home), and he was the Afro-Celt's miwife. This is acknowledged on the Wikipedia entry.

How can it be "dated"? The ACSS (Wikipedia entry) has only been in existence since 1996 and this CD came out in 2001. Is your concept of time so narrow that 8 years is "dated"? Or is that a reference to the Irish and Scottish melodies and rhythms being used?

Curently my favorite band. (It changes pretty often though). And Thank you RP for th introduction. OK, I\'ll admit their songs do sound very much alike but I really like that sound! Another admission is that within that narrow range, this is not one of their best.
