They have better tracks
there is a lot going on all over the place, some nice moments, some sound like teens competing to who has the louder stereo, in my opinion it's just OK, it's fine....whatever.
Oh wow, has this really been on the back burner for 15 years?  It's personal taste I know, but I don't think I've ever met an ACSS track I don't like - and this one is no exception. I have the album somewhere, I must dig it out
Doesn't Harry Shearer use this as the background music for his "Clinton-Something" skits on Le Show?
Ouch!
May I say OVERWHELMING... PS. Please never play this again...never...I mean it...

the greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing people to give this song an average rating of a 6. Get thee behind me.

That is precisely what is so disturbing about it. It's like imagining your parents having sex-horrifying.

I could easily crash with this music...it brings out my psycothic side
Psycothic...is that a combination of Psychedelic and Goth?
Love it!
I can just see all the Hippies of the Pacific North West dancing around like Fir trees in the wind... kinda funky ... celtic and fun all at the same time
Lord of the Dance - Michael Flatley - goes Africa!
I liked it a lot :)

This is nice, but I'd rather hear more Hevia!
ACSS is perfect for a long drive on a wide-open highway.
Please stop playing this overand over again. It's not that good. -5
this song is wearing me out. F.
broken here too. the office is so quiet without sound :( I run the 128k stream...tried 64k and 32k and it all sounds the same... silence. :(
Yup, the Afro Celt Sound System seems to be broken . . .
Is there something broken on this track? My sound suddenly went silent, but the player still says the song is playing...
While it does kind of remind of Riverdance (on crack) I have come to the conclusion that it serves a higher purpose for me. I aprreciate the stuff that I really DO like much more after listening to some stuff that I may not be so crazy about.
They should have named this Colonic.
I LOVE this album! It so kicks a**!
Good tune. Really keeps you moving. I highly recommend it and will be buying it.

It's this kind of music that bugs me most about this place. This is the kind of drivel that should be left for eurotrash compilation cds they peddle at 2 a.m. Hell it sounds like it's straight outta 1985. Ick. I thought the comparison to a synthesizer demo track was 100% accurate. Jeez, guys.. can we cut down on the number of sounds this tune has? Mediocre at best. I don't get the obsession with world music. It's like the bar gets lowered just for the sake of playing a snappy Irish jig or an African drum. Yawn. Seriously.
Absolutely, my friend ... as a lover of Irish traditional music and (for as much as I know it) African music, I detest this sort of stuff. Awful crossover drivel. Reminds me of 'Riverdance' or, horror of horrors, Michael Flately. I dislike this in the same way that I dislike most (but not all) of Indian/trance crossover and the efforts that Massive Attack and others made with Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan. But then, you put it so eloquently already, I rest my case

Hence the label eclectic . . . :) For me, I like this quite a lot. I don't care if music comes from America, England, Ghana, Samoa, Iceland, the Crab Nebula, or the alley behind my house - what matters is the music, not the label. It's about imagination and execution, and this track has both in spades.
You know, I think playing Santana before this really hightens my appreciation for ACSS even more...It's probably one of the most stark contrasts you could have... You have on one hand a tired, repetitive brand of music with only a few old guitar licks, and that's followed by a wonderful, innovative group with sweet sounds. I'm not saying old is bad, or that Santana was never innovative, but c'mon, it's only innovative the FIRST time. The 500 times after that, it's the same dull drone. This is nice, however. 8.
AfroCelt--there's a concept! I like the rhythm--fun and unique.

Sounds like someone booked Stomp, Lord of the Dance, and Dave Matthews for the same night - and no one would yield the stage! Now that I've got a visual for it, this song is starting to grow on me.
Yeah, it sounds UNCANNILY like the first track from CD I bought at a Bowfire concert (Bowfire is another 'troupe' ala stomp, LoftheDance, et.al. -- all fiddlers, violinists, cellos, etc.) I'll have to find out who ripped off who. Still like it though -- I'll have to upload the Bowfire cut.
pretty dern eclectic groove on......sure hope I don't wake up the neighbors this morning :sunny.gif:
For lots of fun with this song, check out "Noodle." I think that there was a version included with the CD when it came out. It has been updated, including a Mac OS X version, at: https://www.noodleheaven.com/ There are other Peter Gabriel related tracks to noodle with there. Some are free. Some cost money. Some require you to own a specific CD or DVD. Bleah to that, but it's fun. Basically, they provide an "organic" interface to a collection of source tracks to the song. For a repeating, jigging song like "Colossus," this works quite well. I've also tried pg's "Growing Up" using Noodle. I know that "The Tower That Ate People" is also available, to name another RP track.
More! More! I definitely need to get a CD from these people! :-({|= \:D/ :-({|=
I need this group's CD! This would keep me awake at my desk
Utterly birlliant. And I bet the live version is just as good.

This song is okay but WAY too long... ugh
Please just play this group once a day...I looked back and saw them played this morning at 9:23. so I get it when I come in to work, then right as I\'m leaving!
Would someone let the bee outa the jar?

I agree that this music grows on you. I probably would not have picked up this CD based on a few listens, but my daughter bought it for Christmas, and I\'m starting to like it a lot. It helps if you get up and shake your booties a bit.

I'm not certain if this is true appreciation of this music, or not. For my ears this is quite good. Gets my blood flowing. Hard not to tap my foot along with the song.

Sounds like a demo CD at an Organ store. \"Look at all the pretty noises you can make.\" Over and over and over....
