This song and many other Smashing Pumpkins tunes helped form the background of my college years. Now that I'm older I listen to them more closely and enjoying them more than ever! GREAT ROCK!
Riding as a courier in PDX, zooming through traffic, wet streets, getting high in the parks, and this album on auto reverse on the Walkman. How I miss those days.

Poor Billy Corgan. He really really wanted Cherub Rock to be The Single from this album, and he's stuck with Today. Good song though.

What a freaking good song. Siamese Dream and Gish are my favourite Pumpkins albums without a doubt!
A shame that Billy Corgan had to go and lose his mind. Ah well.

Yeah, it was the sound of the era, for sure — STP, Nirvana, Pearl Jam n such. It felt great to crank it, embrace raw grunge, and wail...
If I had a rock band it would sound like The Smashing Pumpkins. That drummer Jimmy Something they kicked out for doing too much heroin was a pretty kick ass drummer!!

I bought this album back in the day but inexplicably failed to spot its greatness and it lay in hibernation on my shelf for almost two decades. However thanks to the rejuvenating power of Radio Paradise it has been resuscitated and now features very highly in the Davidson family play list with my teenage sons playing it often enough and loud enough to irritate their mother.
Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches loves this song today...

Can't say I'm thrilled with what they put out after they got back together.

Can't listen comfortably to the Pumpkins. My youngest boy was going throught the depths of teenaged angst, constantly listening to every song these guys recorded. The drepressive lyrics and melodies made me really worry about him.

I guess nobody's perfect. Smashing Pumpkins is Bill's weak spot, the crappy band he has to like to balance out the rest of the awesome.

This song takes me back to my mid 20's driving a horrible DC commute with this song cranked up to 11 and me singing just as off-key as Billy. Great stuff!

Hey, it's not often we agree but when it comes to the 'singing' of Mr. Corgan, I'm on your side. Vocalizing by Billy always sounds so painful for him, what with all the grunting and straining. In fact, I'm surprised he hasn't busted his spleen. Despite that, there are a few Smashing Pumpkins songs that I like, but I don't like them for the vocals, I like them for the music. This song is just not my bag. The wife is a hardcore early SP fan, but I never really got into it. This is a good enough song, but there are better from the album. I've never been much of a single kinda guy, I prefer the album cuts that you have to digest instead of the radio ready songs.
That late 90's grunge... I hold firm to "10" and "Nevermind" but this album —early 'Pumpkins' totally did it for me....
not sure which album more distills what I loved about 90s music for me, this one or Pearl Jam's Ten

Ross, agreed wholeheartedly. And this is from someone who is a HUGE Dylan and Waits fan. My roommate in college was a big Pumpkins fan, and while I think they were very musically talented, I could never get past Corgan's whiny voice.
