They all asked about you down on the farm
The cows asked, the pigs asked, the horses asked too
All wanna know why to the city you moved
Changed your name to Kitty, what's come over you ?

It ain't true, it ain't true, Linda Lou
Say it ain't true, Linda Lou
It ain't true, it ain't true, Linda Lou
Say it ain't true, Linda Lou.

They's all bawling 'bout you down on the farm
The cows bawl, the pigs bawl, the horses bawl too
Miss you so much that crying's all we can do
Weeping and wailing, praying you'll come home soon.

It ain't true, it ain't true, Linda Lou
Say it ain't true, Linda Lou.

I hear you're working in a saloon
I hear you work from midnight 'til noon
I might be from the woods
But them hours don't sound so good
What do you do in this here barroom ?

Say it ain't true, it ain't true, Linda Lou
It ain't true, Linda Lou
Say it ain't true, it ain't true, Linda Lou
Say it ain't true, Linda Lou.

You can't dance so I assume
In a bag you carry a tune
You're from the woods
But these hours don't sound so good
What you doin' in this here barroom ?

Say it ain't true, it ain't true, Linda Lou
It ain't true, Linda Lou
It ain't true, it ain't true, Linda Lou
Say it ain't true, Linda Lou.

for years, I thought he was singing  "the cow's ass, the pig's ass, the horse's ass too"
Geez !
It ain't true, Linda Loo, blah, blah blah, blah......

Great band, such a mediocre track....

And Terry Reid, particularly "River" and "Seed of Memory".

Me thinks Lowell George gave it a listen.

Awesome band,song writer - so underratted and appreciated by the masses. Too bad for them, I always liked bands that were not well known. Probably started with Little Feat. Rock and Roll Dr -RIP

The cows bawl, the pigs bawl, the horses bawl too
Miss you so much that crying's all we can do

Bet this one gets more than 1 play in the next 30 days! Thanks for everything RP. You're all any music lover needs.{#Notworthy}

Sorry - still laughing over the "Ribbit"/"Shut up!" exchange. Somehow, the song itself is an anticlimax. I'm betting that the frog ended up on the table with lemon sauce. Either that, or the human ended up lost in a cornfield without his flask. Either way, I love the hell out of this song. LIttle Feat... Perfect sunshine music.  Bumping this to a 10, just because it makes me feel so good...

"Lost in the cornfield with out his flask"....funny
Bill, I am always jealous of your track of this.  You have the cricket at the start.  Does not seem to be possible in any of the digital versions I find. Say it ain't true Linda Lou.
I just finished the new book "Willin'". I highly recommend it as a great history of Little Feat.

marvelous...  love this song...

I grew up on a dairy farm in the middle of nowhere...  I've had that argument with the wildlife, and it it always ended with me being pist and the animal completely unaware that I was even talking to them.

Kinda feels like conversations with my boss now that I think about it.

Amen, brother! For ten long years my wife was my boss. I know, I know...

Egad! I haven't heard this tune in a couple of dog's ages. Totally forgot it, and happy to hear it again!

Oh, Lowell, how I miss thee!

This one's always bittersweet to me in that this was released several months after Lowell's passing. This cut opens the album and Lowell's opening conversation with the bullfrog would be the last of his "cartoon consciousness" and humor that we would hear from one of my all-time heroes of rock. Love it just the same. R.I.P. Lowell and Richie!

...toes started tappin...
hey now that's no little feat
training a cricket to speak
Best damn boogie band in the universe. Miss Lowell soooo much!
Shut up!

The Budweiser frogs. Hilarious.

Sexy Aflac!! {#Devil_pimp}
I just can't stop laughing at the beginning of this song!  The beat is great, the words are devilishly clever, the instrumentals are typically dead-on Little Feat - but darn it, that guy telling the frog to shut up is just hysterically funny to me!  Like trying to win a stare-down with a cat. You know you'll never win, but you still keep trying... {#Lol}{#Bounce}{#Bananajam}
I remember this song, and the life I had way back before I got smart. Good times.

Hello Romeo...{#Hug}
In my mind I see Romeotuma in a pink tutu dancing to this song in a hotel room in Vegas. How about you guys? Or am I sick? Love the song BTW. 7.

Linda Lou sure got around, huh?
I'm just a hick from the woods, but this song sounds so good . . . . {#Smile}
Well, I don't know if I like the song, but the intro made me laugh out loud.  Or, if you prefer acronyms. GLOL (genuine LOL)

Yea, this LP gets knocked for it.  George was busy during most of the recroding, and I think he died before it was finished so this effort was a little unfocused.  But I still like a lot of it including this one!

Exactly, Lowell was working on his solo record and dealing with discord within the Feats. This record was completed after his untimely passing and I've since come to find out that what I thought was Lowell's slide work on this tune was actually Fred Tackett's playing. Though I still like the song, I'm disappointed that I'm not listening to some of Lowell's last tastey slide riffs.
If you look up "double entendre" in the dictionary, it should refer to this song.
For Beezy!

LOVE the intro to this one!!  Ribbit... shut. up.  {#Lol}
