Some people think that I must be crazy
But my real name is just Jesse James
An I left them half-crocked, hard-knocks of black rock county
Just to ride on that New Delhi Train
Ridin on that New Delhi Freight Train
Ridin down that New Delhi Line
Ridin on that New Delhi Freight Train
Well I left my love behind
Yeah I left my love behind
Yeah I'm just a country boy without angels
ahhh just a country boy without gold
An I been to silver cities load of rainbows
Where I pillaged and I killed and I stole
Ridin on that New Delhi Freight Train
Ridin down that New Delhi Line
Ridin on that New Delhi Freight Train
Well I left my life behind
Yeah I left my life behind
Then I killed a man named smilin Jordan (Jeer-dun)
Yeah I killed him with one of my guns
And I knew that I had did what I had not ought to
But I welcomed the run from what I'd done
Ridin on that New Delhi Freight Train
Ridin down that New Delhi Line
Ridin on that New Delhi Freight Train
Well I left my guns behind
Yeah I left my guns behind

Repetitive. I do not like Delhi pronounced Delah. Pretentious.

Fix your ears.
This song is not my thing. But you know what? I like that. I haven't heard it before, and I'm hearing so much great music from such a broad swath of genres, that I can't complain about not liking every song. I already have that station in my phone--the one where I can sing along to every song. You can play that mix at my funeral. Rock on Bill!!!

Thanks Michael for introducing me to this great band. This album is my favorite after their live set.
One of Terry Allen's best songs. Covered by one of the best bands ever.
c.
Marty Muller (AKA Neon Park) did the painting for the album cover. He lived off and on in San Miguel de Allende, when it was still a bohemian artist colony. (That was before intense gentrification and colonization turned this small north central Mexican city into something less interesting than it once had been; but this is the story of many places that had too much magic to sustain the vibration; what did the Eagles sing? You call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye....) The image is enigmatic, with a view of San Miguel from up on the Salida a QuerĂ©taro. But why did Marty insert a Greek Byzantine-style church into the Baroque landscape of a former Spanish colony? Rest in Zen Peace, you psychedelicized genius, Marty. We remember you and love you.
I had to go 7+1 to 8 today, which then prompted me to do the same w/ the follow-up track by Beck "Beautiful Way" - and I'll have to remember to play these two together at our next impromptu BBQ at the homestead.  Brilliant segue (AGAIN!!) by Mr. G.....Long Live RP and all the brilliance!!

Most rational individuals would agree with you.

1977 down town Seattle, Tower Records. this song was wafting thru the store,bought it immediately ,fan forever of them and the late Great Lowell George.......{#Umbrella}

Yeah, bro.  This is rock and roll.  Country funk isn't that far away on the musical family tree, though.  Both blues derivatives.  Kissing cousins, maybe?

Edit:  Yeah, I know Lowell George had talent and died too soon, but the current incarnation of this band continues to play seriously smoking rock/blues/funk/country music.  Especially when heard live; don't miss them.

Its not country.  That dude has no idea what he's talking about.

Seriously, Bill, you would run a killer "Country Eclectic" station and I encourage you to start one up.

I really do enjoy such a wide variety of music, but this southern hick sounding stuff just makes me cringe.  You fortunately preceded it this time with Ray LaMontagne and followed with Bob Marley, which almost makes it palatable.  But sometimes you get into country music sets that just really make me wonder where my sanity has gone.

Monster album by a monster group... This tune gets me tapping, and singing, chair dancing, They were
slick and first cabin southern funk. . . They were just never the same after Lowell George passed,
but they clearly had their own sound and it was damn good !  Another founding member Richie Hayward died in 2010.. RIP Brothers. .

A great FEAT song that I haven't heard in years.

Time to dust off the vinyl...
My big feet are dancing.
On top of the heap.....Little Feat. Give it to me...I can take it!!! Dancin' in the kitchen!
Love it!
Hard to believe this hasnt been in  rotation yet.
