always thought these two were amazing, still do.
They're great, this isn't.
Talented, no doubt, but this doesn't do it for me. The wrong choice of song.
Saw them 2 months ago. I saw them last live almost 20 years ago. They were even better now then they were then. The whole Theatre was standing and dancing.
They played 20 minutes of Pink Floyd Meddle acoustically. It was outstanding.
If you ever get a chance to see them live, make the effort to do it.

ok
Recently saw these two perform and it was an epic night. They took a few moments to connect with the audience and talk about real things that had been going on in their lives and touched on depression. I found it truly remarkable that they would openly discuss such personal aspects... then went right back to rocking out so damn hard.

If you saw them in person, you would not think they are pretty pretenders. They are fantastic live. And I've never seen anyone like them.

This is #215 on a list of 305 different covers of this song. Have we heard any of the other versions here on RP?
So, maybe not so eclectic after all, Mr. Goldsmith.

Happy if you like them but please don’t call them brilliant or fantastic musicians, It’s just annoying. I encourage you to seek out the real thing and not to be hoodwinked by these pretty pretenders.

Perfect! Going to see R&G play with the Oregon Symphony in about 2 hours. Thanks RP for turning me on to them years ago!
Sucked when I rated it in 2007, still sucks today - Any cover of Stairway gets an automatic 1 for me - the most overrated and overplayed song in the history of radio

Rodrigo y Gabriela are amazing guitar artists. But I like their original work so much more.
Hey sirtezzeplin.... I like the interpretation. I don't play guitar, so I can't say if this is any good... but I like how it sounds..... I would agree that you can't slow dancing to this like the original...
Anyway, Led Zepplin ripped off a bunch of people.. so who cares!

I usually don't like over-crafted guitar music, but due to its sheer originality, this is kinda growing on me. At least halfway through.

This rendition of Stairway has got to make Jimmy Page smile. it certainly does me.....
not much they do that I don't like
Made many trips to D.F. (Mexico City) in 1995. One fine evening a small orchestra was set up on the sidewalk outside of a café. They played a set of Led Zep songs on strings and brass and it worked wonderfully.
I see in a previous comment that someone mentions R&G ought to try doing AC/DC. Well, go see R&G in concert and you will indeed hear them do a few select AC/DC songs.
Pffffffffffff
Pffffffffffff
I see pupils in the lens.

Lots of bad cover versions of this out there. This is one of the outstanding ones.
The middle has a definite mason williams classical gas feel. Excellent. PS how about that album cover!

Ya know what, every once in a while its ok to hear the real led zep version. Iffen one doesn't listen to terradio very much, its never heard.
Shame that a cover of this song is in the library, but the original isn't. Heck, its been rejected.
I'm not saying I'd like to hear the original on a regular basis, but maybe once for every two times the cover is played ?

Okay, so now we have "Who By Fire" (a.k.a. "50 Ways to Meet Your Maker") followed by "Stairway to Heaven"—very clever!

I prefer the Rolf Harris version to the original. This version is the best so far, though, IMO. For those who don't know, Rodrigo y Gabriela are massive Led Zep fans, and IIRC started out as a couple playing Led Zep covers on Spanish guitar.

Sorry, but the classic-rock revival on commercial radio during the 80s turned me off to Stairway to Heaven. All versions. Forever.
Twice a day ?
I prefer Frank Zappa's version - from the "Best Band You Never Heard Of" album.

If you consider this hokey, I will suggest that for your own sanity you avoid listening to modern pop at all costs. By comparison, this is poetry that touched the depths of the human soul and uplifted entire nations, while making the sun rise and flowers bloom.
(OK, that may be a slight exaggeration. The sun will rise anyway. :)
