First saw Allison when she was with Fear of Drinking and have followed her through the years to her well-deserved success.
I really love this song, but hearing it just a bit too much lately. I don't want to get tired of it. And no, PSD isn't an option for me most of the time.

This song continues to grow on me. She has such a soulful voice, edging into Aretha territory.
I'm a huge Aretha fan. I've given this song a peevish 9 because I'm reluctant to give a newish singer a 10. But I couldn't connect Russell to Franklin. At all. Then I listened to a live performance of this song (link below), and I think you're onto something. Allison Russell is simply scratching the surface of her range:

I love the music on RP and always appreciate the positive comments and stories that folks share, and love exposure to new (to me) regardless of the 'when' the music as created.
But also have to come to love the images / photographs that go along with each piece of music, yet never see a comment on those . . .
