I have heard this song eighty-bajillion times on RP, but never took the time to check who the artist was. BillG just said it was Shriekback*, and my ears tweaked forward like a cat's will do. I can't believe that I never checked to see who this artist was. For me, it's just been background music. 

*My knowledge of Shriekback is, uh, of much more energetic songs.

Bouree, Golden Brown and now The Underwaterboys!

Matt's has a friendlier voice, IMHO. "Dusk" is one of my top ten all-time faves. Yes, dark and brooding like Shriekback, but also like so many others of the time. Black was the only color.

Thank you so much for playing songs from this planet´s best unknown band. It´s such a shame they are so forgotten. Please(!) play something from their most-forgotten  - first - album CARE. In my opinion, this is one of the best first albums in rock history, but they were 20 years ahead of their time. (In fact they invented  Trip Hop on this record, amongst other things, and this was 1983!)
