I put a spell on you
'Cause you're mine

You better stop the things you do
I ain't lyin'
No I ain't lyin'

You know I can't stand it
You're runnin' around
You know better daddy
I can't stand it cause you put me down
Yeah, Yeah

I put a spell on you
Because you're mine
You're mine

I love ya
I love you
I love you
I love you anyhow
And I don't care
If you don't want me
I'm yours right now

You hear me
I put a spell on you
Because you're mine

Not meant to discredit this version, but if you like this song, also check out the original  recording by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. https://youtu.be/82cdnAUvsw8?s...
Not a great cover. But it has its merits: It made me want to re-listen to the CCR one
Was hoping for a different Brian Reitzell song after Donna Summer's I Feel Love...  :)
Made for TV, not for listening enjoyment - just plain tripe...
Prefer the Bette Midler Hocus Pocus version.... that's not saying much..... lol!
Another unique voice......gone
Sounds like a dying whale. Garbage.
too creepy!! take the gun away from him...
It's interesting and may be it works with the show, but I think Mr. Reitzell lacks the soul to pull it off out of context. Love the tune however, very much like Screamin' J.
for some reason this brings to mind El Watusi by Ray Barretto.  A fine classic seldom heard
I've yet to see the show, so it's like trying to judge out of context.   Not keen on the track myself, but it might work well with the visuals...
Seems like Mark Lanegan really needed that money... however, the Sonique version mentioned below is even far worse than this.
In fact, virtually everybody covered this song, and virtually everybody failed.
Sonique - I Put a Spell on You.
WTF is this??
White. You could not record a more White version of this great, great song. Give me Nina or Screamin' Jay, or nothing at all.
A very sad effort and pale shadow of the original.

I quiet enjoy this version, as well as Lanegan's turn on "In the Pines" which is also featured in season one of AG. I wonder if Lanegan will show up on the soundtrack for season two.

Well, the showrunners quit, so who knows what season 2 is gonna be like. {#Arghhh}

Nope. Not good.

The book was/is excellent.
Bloodless. Should come with "with apologies to Screamin Jay Hopkins"
A tad overwrought.
Based on this, I think somebody put a curse on Reitzell.
Great version, great sound

This version has none of the power of the original. Go check it out on Youtube, the guy was way ahead of his time.
Yes, and now hearing this songs brings back the goose bumps!
The show is jaw-dropping amazing and the music in the show is really well programmed.

And yes, this version of I put a Spell on You works just fine.

This song is just creepy.
Makes my eyebrows hurt from contorting my face in disgust.

not good, oof, suckee bad
The Screamin' Jay original would have been fine on the show, but a fresh talent cover is in keeping with the times.
I haven't seen any American Gods, but this song fits the book super-well. Both the lyrics and the odd carnival music with the gravelly voice.
Nothing to comment but i'm first
