There, there.  This IS their early stuff...and they're still awesome in concert - 48 years later.  This is a must-see show.

I  Agree!!

Hearts of fire creates love desire
Take you high and higher to the world you belong
Hearts of fire creates love desire
High and higher to your place on the throne
We come together on this special day
Sing our message loud and clear
Looking back, we've touched on sorrowful days
Future pass, they disappear
You will find peace of mind
If you look way down in your heart and soul
Don't hesitate 'cause the world seems cold
Stay young at heart, 'cause you're never, never old That's the way of the world
Plant your flower and you grow a pearl
Child is born with a heart of gold
Way of the world makes his heart so cold hearts of fire create love desire take you High and higher to the world you belong
Hearts of fire love desire
High and higher, yeah yeah yeah
Hearts of fire love desire
Ahh higher we come together on this special day
Sung our message loud and clear
Looking back, we've touched on sorrowful days
Future disappears
You will find peace of mind
If you look way down in your heart and soul
Don't hesitate 'cause the world seems cold

Love the comments about this track. Like our present political and cultural discourse, it's all over the map, and very wryly entertaining.
I hear EWF and recall my college party pal, Bernie. He'd do a fab falsetto impression of an EWF tune melody, then segue straight to about 70 turntable Klipsch speaker decibels of his favorite, Frank Zappa.  Worlds apart hilarious.

That bass; CRANK IT! The soaring vocal harmonies! The ringing, pinging guitar in there! Wish they made jams like this today! I echo the comment about laying out album covers on shag carpets...when lyrics were deep! They made great sifting & rolling surfaces, too!

slow and super cool bass bringing me into this lovely groove all topped by a coloradojohn piece of magic, cheers son I'm still laughin' {#Roflol}
high school slow dancing...

One of the few genres of music I find intolerable.
Reminds me so much of "Remy Shand". Google him! {#Clap}

What the world needs now is love sweet love! Thanks RP for giving us a little of the great library of soul music. Peace on Earth.

I feel truly blessed to have seen the "real" band including Maurice White and Phillip Bailey long ago. What a superb show and one of the most impeccable sounds in concert I have ever heard.

Yeah, these guys were all outstanding musicians; it's unfortunate how often that gets overlooked because they produced "hit" records.
o man does this ever bring me back!  Like decades!!  :){#Dancingbanana_2}
This is the most soothing groove I could dream of listen to on a 2nd of January of a new year (2015).

I don't remember ever having heard E,W&F on RP - it's my first time anyway.

Bill and Rebecca, have a fantastic new year, and mmmmmh thanks for this {#Daisy}

(I am 'only' giving this a 9, 'cause there are other songs they did that do even more to me than this one - and this one does a lot...)

Great song... not to mention that these guys had the best album covers... i remember laying on my parents shag carpet (the kind you had to rake to fluff it up) and getting lost in these album covers.... ah, Oakland in the 70s...

So this is where Lenny Kravitz got "It ain't over 'til it's over" from, huh?    It's smooth.

Why is that everything Lenny Kravitz has ever written has been a rip off? The poor guy cannot catch a break.

That's a fine slow jam my friends.  If you can't groove to this, you have no soul.

No kidding - if you aren't nodding along to this that's a sad thing.

Sweet memories of a certain person in a dorm room, a long time ago.
Verdine White: spare, economical, rock solid. One of my idols.
Wow.  Been listening to RP for years now.....and this one totally caught me off-guard!  But in a good way.

So glad to hear EWF here! Must have bought all their albums in the 70's!
Mellow me out while at work on a Saturday night!
Disco but more than. Gospel but more than. EWF transcended them, and rock too. That's one way to explain that they appeared in the song rotation with Pink Floyd, ZZ Top and others of the late '70s heyday.  No one complained. The highlight was hearing and watching dorm mate Bernie karoaking this song at the party on Beacon Street -- I think before anyone had invented karaoke. Musta been the good weed. And the deliriously happy vibes. Perhaps because of the weed. To this day Bernie and I get a laugh.
like - love this whole album
{#Bananajumprope}Great song and lyrics are amazing!! Love the guitar too and of course their vocals are beyond compare.
Can't listen to this w/o thinking about the SNL 'd*k in a box' skit {#Bounce}
wooooowwwwwyeah,  oooohhhh oh    shakin the dust off my once-funky hips  yes thank you!
Ahh, nice - cool to hear it here.
tasty nugget, thanx Bill..{#Dance}
Wow...Always wondered when & if I'd hear this nicely grooving tune here on RP. Indeed, this takes my ears, mind, & soul all the way back to when it was on the radio...Even as kids, we knew this was way good, and tunes like Serpentine Fire & Shining Star ROCKED!
Ah, this song takes me back. Lovely. I don't think I appreciated it enough back in the day. Lynyrd Skynyrd and BTO were the cool bands where I lived. I'd much rather listen to this now.

ETA: I just bought the MP3 - yay!
My favorite Earth, Wind & Fire song - lovely to hear it.   Yeow
