This reminds me of a classical piece by Schubert, Winterreise. I think Santaolalla knows the piece.
Reminds me of 'winterreise' form Schubert. Same chords? Anyone?
One of the best songs to make you stop what you're doing and contemplate life.
This music is caress for the soul.
In the same line with Motorcycle Diaries soundtrack which is superb.
Sorry Gustavo Alfredo Santaolalla only rating 7 from me
Captivating in it's simplicity.
Dingleberry nights more like

From IMDB, for the movie My Blueberry Nights:
"A lonely young woman takes a soul-searching journey across America to resolve her questions about love while encountering a series of offbeat characters along the way." Starring: Norah Jones, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, David Strathairn, Rachel Weisz, Cat Power, ........
Has anyone here seen the movie? It sounds like a collection of cameos, and that's often a good thing.
Charlie Rose was practically falling over himself with praise and admiration when Norah came on to push the film. I think the critics panned it.

*Gustavo scratches his head and continues playing his charango...
My mistake! He actually plays a "roncoco", an instrument of the charango's family. It also has five double strings, it's bigger -around 80 cm long- and it's tuned an octave lower.

Very nice. Strange that I don't remember it: I was one of the seventeen or so people who saw and liked the movie.

Wow......I had to stop what I was doing....this simply beautiful and haunting melody just grabbed me. I clicked on the song and found that I had already rated it a 9 from a previous listening (I rarely give a 10, but this one is close) Ha.
everynow and again, you just have to stop what you are doing and click on the artist to see who it is

The whole soundrack of My Blueberry Nights is excellent!
As the man just said - "You are listening to Radio Paradise" and as someone else cleverly posted - Radio Paradise dot calm!
So pure, so beautiful.
Great to hear Gustavo Santaolalla at RP. He is a fundamental figure in Latin music's history (mostly known as a producer.) Bill: may I suggest playing music from what Rolling Stone called the greatest Latin Rock Album album of all time (I agree with Rolling Stone on this one): Cafe Tacuba's Re (produced by Gustavo)
