She used to love me but it's
Over now
That was a good thing that's
Gone man, gone
I pass the hours
Just to get by
Talk to the dogs
So I know that I'm alive
I never thought that I should quit
All the stupid crazy shit that I do
In the name of
Keepin' good things away
Some things you can
Puck right up
Other things
Well, you better not screw up
My problem was
That I could not see
What was important
Right in front of me
I never though that I should quit
All the stupid crazy shit that I do
In the name of
Keepin' good things away
How much longer, man
Before they surf?
It's here today
But it's gone man, gone
The epitaph scratched upon my stone:
"Here lies a man who just wanna be alone"
She used to love me but it's
Over now
That was a good thing that's
Gone man, gone
Over now
That was a good thing that's
Gone man, gone
I pass the hours

If you like the vocals, try Michael Chapman.
This is very good Bill, thanks!
Another first for me here on RP. Just like the previous Depeche Mode track. I'm getting old new music in my ears.

Not really - it's a pretty standard type of R&B-derived rock rhythm (used in hundreds of songs), and its riff, tempo, and song structure are different than those of "Lust For Life"). To me, it has more in common with "One Way Out" by Elmore James, which was later popularized by The Allman Brothers.
"Got a lust for life..." n'est pa??

Iggy Pop, indeed.
Frankly, I don't like either one.

this has a 50's rock feel to me —-sounds like a lot of old early rock songs.
How many different EELS exist?
Nice. Didn't know they had a new album out.
I like the track (and the profanity!)
The album is really good. Like this song
Profanity? No sir don't like it!
I thought it might've been Charles Burns, but it's Tomine. Pretty great cover

for you eels fans that might not know about this rather strange NOVA program (strange for NOVA that is).

Hi, romeotuma - welcome back to the land of the paradise!
Ain't but one way out baby, Lord I just can't go out the door.
Ain't but one way out baby, and Lord I just can't go out the door.
Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know.

"Walk like an Egyptian...." Dang, I hate myself for loving this song... But it's okay. I usually forgive myself pretty quickly, and life's too short for metaphorical self-flagellation. *g* LET'S DANCE!

That guitar just moves. More than makes up for the gratuitous S-bomb.

If I didn't know this was the Eels, I wouldn't know this was the Eels.
Mmmmm.
A band I would love to see live.. C'mon, e, don't you know that there are lots of us that love you?

"Really great"? Doesn't really good work? Nice cover art, by the way: looks like Adrian Tomine or Daniel Clowes did it.
Or Jaime Hernandez.

I guess everyone has different tastes, but I wouldn't rank "Saturday Morning" as even among the top 50 Eels songs.
There hasn't been a really great Eels song since Saturday Morning, and this song doesn't change that.

Kinda reminds me of Link Wray's "Black Widow", better known as the inspiration of Zeppelin's "Moby Dick"
I like the new direction, eel growth.
Kickin!
IãLIKEãTHISãPICTURE.
D'oh! I missed it. I'm really interested in hearing the new Eels CD so I hope it gets some more play here. Thanks RP.
