Go, honey go -
Into the ocean
Go, honey go -
Into the great beyond
Til you're good and gone
And you can hide away for
When everything goes wrong
Honey - go
Go, honey go -
If I were you I would
Leave this neighborhood
Away from people who never
Treat you like they should
Honey - go
Go
In the woods or in the ice and snow
Where there is
No one else you know
You've really nowhere
Else to go
So honey go
Go, honey go
Cause it's a dead end street
And it's a street in a town
Where winning isn't sweet
And every win
Is the beginning of defeat
So honey - go
Go
Into the ocean
Go, honey go -
Into the great beyond
Til you're good and gone
And you can hide away for
When everything goes wrong
Honey - go
Go, honey go -
If I were you I would
Leave this neighborhood
Away from people who never
Treat you like they should
Honey - go
Go
In the woods or in the ice and snow

Else to go
So honey go
Go, honey go
Cause it's a dead end street
And it's a street in a town
Where winning isn't sweet
And every win
Is the beginning of defeat
So honey - go
Go

always awesome
nice hearing this after Karen O. both female vocalists that i enjoy a lot.
Only on RP could you hear an artist like Aimee. Sounds great!
An amazing, enduring talent...love to hear Aimee on RP, no matter the iteration...

I searched around a bit and found that Aimee Mann did indeed sing on a Rush song. "Time Stands Still" on the album "Hold Your Fire" from 1987.
She's credited on the song, but I just listened to it and while there's someone singing backing vocals (not a duet or co-lead) it could be anyone. I never would have picked out her otherwise distinctive voice.
First day using the new web app (very good first impression). To get to the comments you have to move past the lyrics and the Wikipedia page.
On the Wikipedia page under Associated Acts it lists Rush! I saw her in concert a few years ago and she covered Lynyrd Skynyrd, but Rush?

What a great album this was/is!
Starts out like a Fiona Apple song.
Sounds a lot like most Aimee Mann songs...
Quite excellent!
smoothed over Chrissie Hynde maybe
definitely maybe.
Partially like it but not greatly and not because she sounds like she's been eating carpet!
Pushed it from a 7 to 8. It makes me happy (still) when it comes on, so hey.

No whatever whatsoever. You used the term inaccurately. The rest is your opinion, but own up to it at least.

Aimee is one of the most gracious, talented performers I have ever seen live. I saw her in a small venue and she took requests and overall really seemed to appreciate and respect the audience. I think she is an amazing singer and songwriter. She also stuck it to the record company man AND she played with Squeeze. Love her.

This is a fantastic album, highly recommended.
The chorus seems disjointed from the rest of the song
Definitely not her best. Too bad there's only one song uploaded from her first solo record. That one was a beaut from beginning to end.
Opening piano thought it was Fiona again!
Meh.
Think that may be first time I ever used that word, but it's appropriate.

I was sure it was Chrissy Hines

I remember when this came out, such a lovely era..

You may not like this tune, but it is not a dirge, by any definition.

This will be a gem for when the theme is "all things theremin."

I have all her other CD's, but for some reason this one slipped by without me buying it.
The reminds me of the theme to The 4400.

Don't think I've heard this before. I like the mood.

Well ... maybe, kinda, sorta
Has a bit of spooky in it . . .
Not her best but not bad at all
#$%%&$& Ho Hum.
Something about Aimee that just gets to me.
In a good way.
Think its the lyrics and the delivery.

I really don't get the "nasal" comments that always seem to accompany Aimee Mann's music. Yes she is a bit nasal, but I wouldn't have noticed it but for the constant harping on it. Maybe other's are hearing some sound frequency I can't - sort of like how an overdose of violins starts to hurt after a while.

Yet you rated the ubernasal Neil Young an 8! Nah, just messin' with ya - listen to enough Aimee Mann, you'll come to love that distinctive delivery. annoffalese wrote:

I was hoping something from this album would make it to RP. This song is fine but I think there are better ones on the recording.
