While I live in a fantasy
Quietly
Show you everything you'll ever need
I hope you'll take it
I know you're faking just a little bit
C'mon and taste it
Just get excited 'cause you're giving in
Come and see
How the wind in your hair will feel differently
Catch and release
The lure above
Here we are
In the bathwater overflow
Later on
Don't say I didn't tell you so
Maybe I didn't but you've taken it
Knew you were faking just a little bit
Now that you've tasted
No need to fight it 'cause you've given in
Follow me
Down the streams of sweat on your body
Can't believe
The lure was enough
Do you see
How the wind in your hair now feels differently
Catch and release
The lure above
And who knows
How this feeling grows
Was it truly worth, truly worth the starting
And who knows
Why the engine's blown
Hope it's truly worth, truly worth the parting
Follow me
Down the streams of sweat on your body
Can't believe
The lure was enough
Do you see
How the wind in your hair now feels differently
Catch and release
The lure above
Guess the lure was enough
Guess the lure was enough
Yes, the lure was enough
IMHO she's a better bass player than he is a singer.
Just sayin'
didn't realize he's a she, makes sense now.
I think I need to run that through Babelfish
Indeed! But I'm not sure that will help. This is what happens when you try to run music through spectral analysis.
Reminds me a bit of Smashing Pumpkins, but definitely on the unique side.
The Diamond Underground is an anonymous recording artist in the style of modern indie rock. The Diamond underground’s sound has a classic rock, alternative rock, and modern indie pop feel. The artist does not tour or play live. This recording artist has a presence only on the internet.
I'm confused. Silversun Pickups are from, and made their way up in, Los Angeles. To my knowledge they have no song titled 'Man in the Streets' and have not opened for Stevie Nicks. Jet Dreams was a show from the 90's and this band started out in the aughts.
Perhaps this comment was meant to go with the song that preceded it on the playlist. I have been known to accidentally start in the wrong thread as the song switched as I was going to comment.

holy moly. that is one really good song.

YEAH! What he said
Somehow I missed this until now. 7 —> 8
You need to get out more !
Nirvana serves a cracker where Silversun Pickups deliver haute cuisine
I'm pretty sure it was the National, the website is just not updating as it usually does, Shaken.
THATS WHY I give a donation to RP operating costs every month......WHAT about you!?
I used to own one of these, oh no wait, that was a silver Datsun pickup.
My vocabularian synapses get confused so easily these days.
And, for a little relevance, I like this track.
I'm getting the feeling that the playlist for the past 45 minutes is based on my list of favorites. Two 10's and five 9's since 9:15 AM
Not sure why, but I found this more interesting and enjoyable to listen to when I found out it was a male vocalist, perhaps the opposite to many of you??
Although there's a bit of the Billy Corgan and his pumkin patch in here that I could perhaps get to like with repeat listens.
Just sayin'
When you steal a bit, steal from the best
Good observation, but I say no-no-no!
Neither a steal - not were "they" the best!
CERTAINLY NOT!
GREAT song
this is FUN!
She's the bass player, Nikki Monninger. The vocalist is Brian Aubert, to the left of her.
The bass player is pretty...and she is a pretty good bass player too. The song is pretty good too. Thats pretty much all I have to say about that.
When you steal a bit, steal from the best
True enough. The bass player's pretty sweet too, as well as talented
"Silversun Pickups concert just finished. Free. Powered by humans on bike generators. Aren't you on the email list?"
2 blocks from my summer pad, I missed it by 1/2 hour. Sometimes it pays to be in the fan club.
I've been working in Portland for the past several months. I like your schedule, Portland in the summer and Florida the rest. This time of year is a bit too gray, and damp for my tastes. But I think I'm done so back to Austin for me!
But I did shamelessly jump on the Oregon Ducks bandwagon this year!

Always pleased to hear someone state their opinion as fact. What else are you close-minded about? How are you at political discourse? Something tells me you'd fit right into our current Senate, regardless of which pole.
I am always pleased to find someone who really gives a damn about how I express my opinion or whether I am close-minded or not. I guess I needed to add "in my opinion" or that cute little IMO in my post just to clarify. Why do you care? As for politics, I don't discuss that too much because IMO they're all crooks.

Thanks! Interesting voice then...
Appreciate their songs though.
Sure it's a guy at the the microphone?
Thanks to RP I discovered this awesome band. I had to purchase the albums the day I listened to them the first time.

Good, good! Indeed!
good call, thanks. now about the annoying vocalist...
Go back to watching American Idol.
Le'ts add it up. . . average it a bit. . . 9
See? That is how to rate songs here.

Yeah, it says that you've got to go deep to find any quality. The first album was tolerable, this is just annoying. Billy Corgan wants his vocal inflection back.

Honestly, how can a guy fake this voice?
its not about the voice but bout the attitude
Went and hit my Amazon account for this album,
cannot recommend highly enough!
Will be purchasing more copies for friends...
Sounds great on a big hi-fi and in-car.
I can see what people mean about "fake" with this band. And I'm typically oversensitive to anything that feels contrived. But it's not happening to me with Silversun Pickups. I can't help myself - they get me in the gut. Love it.

Billy Corgan just wants to be somebody again. The Pickups are on the way up. Stand aside.
Billy Corgan wants his vocal inflection back.
I love the pumpkins and that is just flat fall off my chair funny :P
Is this song about fishing and sex?
Just curious.
I think I'm in the same boat.
I came here to say how much I don't like what I'm hearing.
But maybe it's not as bad as I thought... not great though.
It gets a 4 from me for the moment.
But, yes, the album art is nice.

but no: they got the FAKE going too,
Oh well. Maturity may erase that crap.
. . . but its all in all, a nice ride: 7.7
a touch fake in its singing tone.
and the name catch and release is a cop out
Far out, Catherwood. Roll another bomber and leave it on the sidetable.

Anyone want to take a shot at interpreting the lyrics? Some say it's about dumping one fling for another (catch a new one, release the old one). Others say it's about drugs, maybe because of the dreamy lyrics. Other say it's just about sex ("... follow me down the streams of sweat on your body", great line), and the seduction that goes with it. What is "the lure above"?
WHAT A BUNCH OF WHINY HIPSTER-WANNABE CRAP!
Ah, I feel better now.
Ney captain, she can't take anymore...she's gonna BLOW!! (....ave ye no gone mad yet?....like meself.)
Reminds me a bit of Smashing Pumpkins, but definitely on the unique side.
BETTER than the Pumpkins. Brian's vocals are so much better than Billy's. And Chris's drumming is off the hook. I can't stand the Pumpkins screaming. All the songs sound the same....
