I need you here on my mind every hour of the day
Without your sweet inspiration
The lonely hours of the night just don't go my way
A man in love needs sweet inspiration
And honey that's all I ask, that's all I ask from you
I gotta have sweet inspiration
You know there's just no telling what a satisfied man might do
If I'm out in the rain baby
In a bad situation
I just reach back in my mind to find
Sweet inspiration
Sweet, oh what a power
And I've got the power every hour in the day
I need your sweet inspiration
To go on livin' to keep on givin' this way
Sweet, sweet inspiration (repeat)
extremely cliched, down to the last note
upon first listening you realize you've heard this many, many times before
Your title needs an edit. Not a chance.
And clapping and dancing like bowlegged muelskinners, no doubt?
The now Tedschi Trucks band was the last concert I saw before the world closed - February 21 in Washington, DC. I do hope to see another one.
Tickets for their extensive 2022 tour in the U.S. and Europe on sale now. We got ours!
If you're disappointed, let me know and I'll reimburse you. Just give me the stub.
Enjoy - this is what makes my world go 'round.
Yes, because my car's CD player was on "song repeat" for the first two weeks I owned this album. An excellent example of the southern boogie mixture of blues, soul, and gospel.
It's in their DNA.

In 2010, The Derek Trucks Band announced a hiatus, and Mike Mattison joined the new group, Tedeschi Trucks Band, as a backing vocalist and songwriter. One of his compositions, "Midnight In Harlem" - Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band (Live At The Crossroads Festival 2010) and appears on the dvd release of Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010.
"Oh wow this is incredible. Sometimes I forget that people are still making good music." ronian12
"I was there at the Crossroads festival that day. What a fantastic music experience. With all the great names there, Tedeshi Trucks band was the biggest surprise for me. This song especially was just perfect during the early evening. Fantastic job! " rickgsoldo
Hey, I can envision a President Romney in exactly the same scene.
very doubtful
That's Derek above B.B.

You be dancin' in your church?
Indeed... we be dancing in my mushrooming multitude of churches like bowlegged gypsy muleskinners... we be inspired...

No, but that's okay. Lizards rule.
Was it followed by the Subdudes when you wrote about this song? 'cuz "Sugar Pie" is playing right now...
And I`m bawling right now .
Love it..
Or the proto-literate...

Words that make you think....music that fill your heart...put them together and they move your soul....love it

Oh. My. Gawd. Could it get any better? That grin on Clapton's face... The music... The absolute joy... Thanks, Calypsus_1, as always. You are the understated enlightener here.
with Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall.
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, crowd of 25,000+ - great show. Alexandria, Louisiana Town Fest (or some other goofy name), maybe 200 people waiting for a rap act - great show.
Couldn't stop making music if he tried.
i know it's generic to post dancing smilies, but i can't help it. when i'm boogie-ing, i just have to share. and derek makes me boogie.
Nice catch. He DOES sound a little like the Welsh Elvis. And in this case, I don't think it's a bad thing.
Not nearly - pure southron blues!
(But TJ - the Welsh Elvis? really?)

Following Ben Harper and Bob Marley, it sure sounds like Songs of Praise.
If I remember correctly, that's what Derek Trucks was named after. :)
love this slide guitar
That's pretty funny. Now that you mention it, I hear what you're talking about.
Hey, Tom! If you're reading this, get the Trucks Band to back you on your next record before some bozo does a mash-up!
Nice kind of a ``Little Feat`` feel to this — IMO.
Well Couldn't be my PC... cause it doesn't have windows on it...
on second thought, i do think he sings thru that guitar.
Right you are, Mike Mattison handles the vocals......forget it then.
The groove is to die for. Clapton earned the original title but DT is also God.
Clapton's great and all, but I never got the whole God thing. People ask: Is Eric Clapton the greatest guitar player of all time? I say, he wasn't even the greatest guitarist in Derek and the Dominoes!
