Is falling down on all that I've ever known
Time will kiss the world goodbye
Falling down on all that I've ever known
Is all that I've ever known
A dying scream makes no sound
Calling out to all that I've ever known
Here am I lost and found
Calling out to all
We live a dying dream
If you know what I mean
All that I've ever known
It's all that I've ever known
Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly
I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide
I tried to talk with God to no avail
Calling my name and out of nowhere
I said "If you won't save me please don't waste my time"
All that I've ever known
It's all that I've ever known
Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly
I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide
I tried to talk with God to no avail
Calling my name and out of nowhere
"And if you won't save me please don't waste my time"
A summer sun that blows my mind
Is falling down on all that I've ever known
Time will kiss the world goodbye
Falling down on all that I've ever known
Is all that I've ever known
no not even close,
no hint at all of Beatles in Oasis' music
how did this silly rumor ever get started?
A convincing argument could be made that there are hints of Beatles in every rock song since 1964....lol
Cannot believe I would like one of their tunes, but here I am.....

Brit media hype back in the mid 90s...

Yeah- I missed the turning point where they got down to actually playing music rather than 'painting in sound?'
This is really good - I forget sometimes that latter day Oasis had its good moments. 7->8
Unfortunately, Noel on vocals prevents it from climbing any higher than that. It does suffer from the same problem as every other Noel-on-vocals Oasis song: You keep imagining how great it could really be if only he let the more gifted brother sing. Oh well.
miss you so much, Cynaera...
love this cool song...
..yeah, TV is a terrible thing..
My exact thoughts. Can't believe these guys ever did anything this good.
Stunned actually.
Soild effort guys
I tried to talk with God to no avail
I called him up in-and-out of nowhere
I said If you won't save me, please don't waste my time
Agreed nobody in America seems to have even heard Definitely Maybe or the critical masterpiece of a b side album. They might have heard Morning Glory, which is great, but the former is so much better in my opinion. I miss the raw sound they used to have. It's no surprise that they win best album of all time polls with these efforts.
I'm in America and I've practically worn out my copy of Definitely Maybe... Though I went through quite the Anglophile phase in the mid 90's, so I guess I'm unusual from my countrymen...
If you can't hear the pure rock and roll exhilaration in Morning Glory or Bring It On Down (which for reasons I don't fathom are not playlisted on RP), then you don't have a pulse.
Their personal flaws, of which there are a lot, notwithstanding, these guys have made some epic rock music.
(Voiceover): OK, now back to "Wimpoid Android Void" by Radiohead.

. . .oops - I see I'm not the only one!
maybe Bill will play it. . . . .wait for it. . .
Is it not dieing?
Turn off your mind.... relax... float downstream......
Awww...I wanted to hear Mexican Radio.
To each his own ...
No argument that these guys had/have a Beatles obsession ...
But there is more pure rock and roll exhilaration in the song Morning Glory than there is the entire catalogs of some bands.
One trick pony's that could have been so much better if they weren't obsessed with telling the world
how "fookin great" they were...it's not about being the best band in the world it's about enjoying the music they produce.
It stunted everything after the first album..then they got bitter as other, more genuine bands surpassed the sound they thought was there own.
I'll admit they did do a couple of songs I liked, but the Verve for instance blew them away.
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN!

I really wanted this to be Mexican Radio, what a letdown! Now I have to go hunt it down on youtube.
Neanderthals invented rock music but damn homo sapiens exploited and stole it.
ha ha right
My thoughts exactly, except for the office part.
Can't say much for this song though.
Ditto.
Seriously - you look to see what song is playing and you see that you rated it, and the rating surprises you. Well, it happens to me.
(and because of those front "boys" not exactly looking good & having quite a silly hairdo...but acting up so big mouthy & self-opinionated...)
(and the music beeing just too "soft"...)
...today I like this song...process of getting older...or...so...?
Hopefully the two Gallagher dunces meant it when they split the band up.
Their obsession with Beatles was their downfall....oh yeah and being crap to begin with didn't help.

True that, but we can never have enough Doves ripoffs!
That is correct!
Amen brother!

But then why not just listen to Doves? It really bothers me that Oasis can't just have their own sound. All band are inspired by other bands, but few rip off their inspiration more often than Oasis.
BOO.
I do understand where you're coming from on this, but how far do you want to take it? Why not just listen to The Beatles? Why not listen to Grog banging two rocks together?
That being said, this song is a dead-on Doves ripoff.
Such a coincidence ;-)
See: Dandy Warhols.
It actually looks like he's dancing to the beat of this Oasis song... either that or I'm trippin!

BOO.
I'm still reacting this way every time I hear it... only I can't remember what the old Oasis sounded like and whether I didn't like it or not... I know I didn't really like it.
2nd it!
Is it not dieing?
And I'm disappointed when it's not.
I'm not!
And I'm disappointed when it's not.
Always thougth is was Tears for Fear until I just heard Bill introduce it.
Came here to say this very thing.
d'accord...
I have to agree. I've liked Oasis in the past, but this album shows growth in their music that I frankly wasn't expecting.

Derivative of what? After thousands of years of human music making what're the chances of producing truly original music? Fat and slim I'd expect (and Slim just left town). As insults go, "derivative" is pretty meaningless, as all music is "derivative" of something. If you want to say that it sucks then just say that, don't try to dress it up in poncey intellectual clothing as if there's some objective rationale for your subjective feelings. Yeesh!
This one grows on me, and I'm no Oasis fan. 7 => 8
I feel like that thing (antagonist) in the Green Eggs and Ham book.
anyway. this is one of the best songs on the alblum as well. a good driving song.

Love this song, but I too thought this was yet another song that shows that Tomorrow Never Knows has possibly been the most influential Beatles song over the last 10 or 20 years.
Is it not dieing?
This sounds like Oasis
actually it really doesn't, that's what's so good about it ;)
I originally marked this at 1. Dunno, must've really irritated me that particular day.
Think I'll bump it up a couple of points and give this another listen. Though it still sounds a little too techno-repetition-boring.
Oh, and I really like this!
Yeh, you can really here that. Maybe that's why I like this tune so much.
Nothing is said that has not been said before.
