Jam another dragon down the hole
Digging to the rhythm and the echo of a solitary siren
One that pushes me along and leaves me so
Desperate and ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless over you
Someone feed the monkey while I dig in search of China
White as Dracula as I approach the bottom
Desperate and ravenous
So weak and powerless over you
Little angel go away
Come again some other day
The devil has my ear today
I'll never hear a word you say
He promised I would find a little solace
And some peace of mind
Whatever, just as long as I don't feel so
Desperate and ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless over you
Desperate and ravenous
So weak and powerless over you
Hunh...I just think "this sounds good"...
Me too! Just listen to the friggin' music and enjoy it!
Maynard is a modern day master. His stuff is approaching brilliance across all of its iterations. And the depiction of substance addiction in his song is moving and powerful...just some really good stuff. Love the fact that he is willing to look at all the ugliness in this world and try to make us recognize it...
I Agree!

Wow — similar polyrhythms in this and the preceding Smashing Pumpkins song (Violet Rays). Just realized I've spent the past several minutes toe-tapping and lap-drumming to this awesome playlist!
Edit: I've never really been a fan of Tool or A Perfect Circle, but seriously is every APC song in 3/4 or 6/8 time? It's been sort of a game I've played with myself for the last 15+ years probably; every time I hear a song by A Perfect Circle I think, "Is it in 3/4 or 6/8? Yup, sure enough it is."
I know I've heard some stuff by Tool that is pretty out there time-wise but don't think I've heard anything but threes from APC. Really liking the polyrhythms here though.

That your comment makes zero sense gives me hope that this was just a terrible autocorrect issue.
Huh?

This song seems to change its time - 6/4 and 6/8. Yeah, the polyrhythms are cool. A lot of Keenan's songs are in unusual time signatures but not all "threes". Some of them have sections of 5/8, 7/8, 11/8, etc. "Schism" by Tool has a number of unusual time changes.
both groups and an occasional play on RP sounds good....
What a stupid statement.
What has this song got to do with a religion ?
Totally inappropriate ...

It's the "loudness wars" again - bands, engineers, and producers thinking that an album pushed to high compression will sound louder over the 'net or FM play. Fact is though that it becomes very fatiguing to the ear, and/or can make an otherwise good recording sound like crap.
Some of the very best engies like Bob Ludwig and Greg Calbi however try to mix with more natural dynamics, and all you have to do to hear the music louder on any playback system is of course - turn up the volume!
No, figured it out on Feb 5, 2007, seven months prior to your post, and two months after having listened to for the first time, and joining RP.
Tool was first. Lead singer of Tool was one of the founding members of APC.
This is pretty cool, but please, no Tool.....
Most truly depressed folk are so consumed with being depressed that they don't have the energy to be an a-hole. I think yours may have been a poseur.
As for the tune...works for me. From the looks of the comments below it's a good thing I have no idea who this band is.
But just as you take me up to the heavens with APC, you have to go an pee on me chips with Dildo! Oh why Bill, why?
I agree, bring on the Tool ;-)
But great tune!!
It's known in legal circles as "Tyrannus Deejannus"
Why no Korn? Or even better In Flames!
Alright!
Now let's hear some Tool. Please?
My thought exactly!
But it's great to hear A perfect Circle on RP! Thanks!
Alright!
Now let's hear some Tool. Please?
EXCELLENT TUNE!! I gave it a TEN!! Thanx RP!
