Zion train is coming our way
Zion train is coming our way
Oh people get on-board
You better get on board
Thank the Lord, praise Fari
I gotta catch this train
Cause thee is no other station
Then you going in the same direction
Zion train is coming our way
Zion train is coming our way
Which man can save his brother soul
Oh man it's just self control
Don't gain the world and lose your soul
Wisdom is better than silver and gold
To the bridge
Oh where there is a will
There always is a way
Where there is a way
Where there is a will, there's always a way
Soul train is coming our way
Soul train is coming our way
Two thousand years of history
Could not be wiped away so easily
Two thousand years of history, black history
Could not be wiped away so easily
Oh children zion train is coming our way
Get on board now
You got a ticket so thank the Lord
Zion train is, zion train is, zion train is, zion train
Soul train is coming our way
Soul train is coming our way
Zion train is coming our way
Oh people get on-board
You better get on board
Thank the Lord, praise Fari

A Bob Marley song that sounds pretty much like every other Bob Marley song.
A thought for Bunny today!
Bill, I would double my meager monthly subscription for a REGGAE MIX
Great song ...suk it up h8rz
>>Those are the only two with songs that I know of worthy of RP play. Anyone know of others?
Could try some Dennis Brown. Or some Freddie McGregor. Here's one:

Heh - a friend of mine is the fundraising director of a local historically-black college (NCCU, in Durham NC) whose radio station WNCU is a delight to listen to - jazz, R&B, and funk. Except on Sunday, when they run a 3-hour raggae show. I've been telling her for ages I would gladly up my monthly contribution to their station if they would cut back or even cancel that show. She said that the show had some of the highest listenership numbers, but the lowest contribution levels. Guess the guys are too busy packing their bongs to make a contribution.
Hey, Bill: in the context of your contribution drive, how much does a Marley-free day cost? No Bob, no Ziggy, no sweat.

Well, my sweet lord, George was profoundly religious.

If he was singing about, say, Catholicism, he'd have been castigated. But since it is an obscure, poorly understood religion, it is accepted? Just saying.

Everybody in my church loves this song...
Agreed with the guys asking for more than just Bob. I can listen to Bob 100,000 times (and I may possibly have over the last 25 years) but there are some reggae artists that are almost as brilliant.
Peter Tosh (who played with Bob)
Lucky Dube (not as well known but the most soulful reggae ever....and sadly recently murdered in S. Africa)
Those are the only two with songs that I know of worthy of RP play. Anyone know of others?

Thanks — Keep playing more Bob deep cuts.
I saw a great documentary on BBC last night on the rocksteady era of Jamaican music in the mid-to-late 1960s
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ym9n4
It was a wonderful insight into the history of reggae just prior to Bob becoming popular worldwide and filled in a few gaps in my knowledge of the genre I love so much.

I liked Bob Marley the first 10^1000 times I heard him. I still like him, but I am way way tired. Can we have some reggae that isn't Bob Marley? I'm asking the universe here.....

A good Marley tune that hasn't been played to death. Bob at his best on this whole album.

Thanks, Bill. This is the perfect excuse to head off to bed ... Marley. Bleh. I know, you worshippers; I'll be careful not to hit my ass on the door.

I think because he didn't get too dogmatic about it is why it went over OK.
