You and Bill could have easily accepted my offer, I know $500 I sent in 2002, let alone the $5k I would have if you stopped playing reggae right then and there would have been beyond helpful - but you of course made the right call. This came on as I was reading the obit for the artist Jason Polan in this morning's New York Times.

I have a thing for cover versions. The farther out there the better usually. Fun to imagine Louis Armstrong in 1967 hearing this song. Probably would have hated it unless he was really high.

It's even more impressive when you realize that Joey was dying from cancer when he recorded this CD.
Joey and The Ramones changed EVERYTHING. They could pack more energy into a 2 minute song than most band could get in a double album of navel gazing garbage.
They are finally getting the respect they deserve as being one of the most influential bands in rock history.

As someone who has always cringed and switched the station every time that sappy, maudlin Louis Armstrong recording came on, I can honestly say I find this refreshing. I can actually listen to it.
