It's the dark night of my soul
And temptation's taking hold
But through the pain and the suffering
Through the heartache and trembling
I feel loved
I feel loved
As the darkness closes in
In my head I hear whispering
Questioning and beckoning
But I'm not taken in
I feel loved
I feel loved
From the depths of my emptiness
Comes a feeling of inner bliss
I feel wanted, I feel desired
I can feel my soul on fire
I feel loved
I feel loved
I feel loved
I feel loved
And temptation's taking hold
But through the pain and the suffering
Through the heartache and trembling
I feel loved
I feel loved
As the darkness closes in
In my head I hear whispering
Questioning and beckoning
But I'm not taken in
I feel loved
I feel loved
From the depths of my emptiness
Comes a feeling of inner bliss
I feel wanted, I feel desired
I can feel my soul on fire
I feel loved
I feel loved
I feel loved
I feel loved

Dave Gahn is one of the coolest.
I did not think DM's music would stand the test of time but it does. One band I never had the chance to see regretfully

Not necessarily, Good equipment will bring out the best and worst of a recording. For example, for a while recording engineers compressed the daylights out of recordings because we naturally think louder sounds better. But it just muddied and distorted the music. Sounds ok to the casual listener on casual equipment , but is really sad on good equipment under critical listening. It's interesting that some of the most critically acclaimed recordings are from the late 50's and early 60's when the recording equipment had reached a good level of fidelity but the limited number of effects and tracks kept production minimal
Depeche Mode usually has superb production, so here good playback equipment is a wonderful thing..

Not such a good sound for them. Too much goofy synth crap.

Proper rock stars.
No yoga hiatus for these lads. oh no.
They meet the 'rock band' brief, for sure.

These guys brought down the wall, the other guys sang about it. But that doesn't matter, they're my favorite bands.
Days go By being sampled to lesser effect? Depeche out of Mode.
I'll go with Dirty Vegas

This song is going to be 20 years old and it looks like it's DM's new single, nice!
One amazing thing about DM is that they kept upgrading their sound in such a natural, homogeneous way., almost never really 'conflicting' with the earlier material.

This is the first time in 18 years that I have rated something below a 5. Usually if I don't like something I don't rate it. But this is truly awful.

Hmmm, I am liking this quite a bit. Dark (so Depeche Mode), intermixed with upbeat, jamming guitar with a nice background of synth.
Oh, never thought I would rate a Depeche Mode song more than 0, but this one is definitely excellent, that's a 7.

For a band I used to hate in my youngster metal days, I sure like them now.
Ooofff, I tried to find something good about this but nope, it's a stinker all right : (
Gargh. Pretty bad.
Muse does this better
I have never heard this song, even though I am big DM fan. Don't like it much though, so no big loss. Just Decent (5)

I LOVE(d) the video to the song (in 2001). makes you want to go out, visit a big, fat rock concert, drink, laugh, dance all night & get lost in a metropolis till dawn... ;o)
What happened during the 7 year gap between the 2005 comments and 2012?!!! Hmm.......? ....the song got lost?

Hey!!! Looks like Bill didn't play that song for nearly 7 YEARS!!!!!! Ah Bill...this song certainly deserves more play than all those Morphine songs.
This song is sucko-barfo times 10, the worst song I've ever heard on RP. It hax zero soul.

Dave, you can sing anything to me...
Why oh why?
This mix (is it a mix) of this song sounds a lot like one of the dance tracks that was in the orgy scene in The Matrix Reloaded. Perhaps it\'s just the vwoopdoop keyboard sound that\'s doing this to me. I dunno.
Great song.....
worst song ever. except maybe the lesbian one, but i wasn\'t tuned in when that was playing.

Honestly, I liked it more (or minded it less) this time, though that may be b/c I switched from the 128 stream to the 32. ;) :p
Just not my thing....
i like depeche mode, but their newer stuff is just...not good. i think they were pretty deeply rooted in a certain point in time. the newer stuff just doesn\'t do it for me.
Oh, I'm so disappointed in you.

This song is eh. The last DM song I really liked was \"It\'s No Good\".

What a great idea, maybe other artist could suffer the same fate, Marley for one could do with A LOT less airplay IMHO.
This song however, rocks! :D
When it\'s nothing more than the right mix, beat and sounds, you can count me out. With this song it\'s little more than that and even that\'s questionable.
