Clouds move in
From off the horizon
Feels like nighttime
In the middle of the day
And I don't know why
But it's still so suprisin'
How a love grows stronger
Or it just fades away
But you look older today
Than I've ever seen you
I think I know the reason
We might wash all our tears away
But you got to bundle up baby
For the rainy season
I hear you breathing heavy
On the telephone tonight
I can feel the air is thick as thieves
Sometimes I just want to tell you
We'll be all right
At least that's what some part of me believes
But you look older today
Than I've ever seen you
Think I know the reason
We might wash all our tears away
But you got to bundle up, bundle up, bundle up
For the rainy season
Oh, oh I've been holding on so long
Holding on and holding on so long
Oh, oh I've been holding on so long
Won't you bundle up baby
Could you bundle up, bundle up, bundle up
For the rainy season
From off the horizon
Feels like nighttime
In the middle of the day
And I don't know why
But it's still so suprisin'
How a love grows stronger
Or it just fades away

And still true. We need to do more rain dances.

like Michael McDonald and Joe Cocker had a baby
Thought it was Paul Weller for a minute!

Is that Bonnie on back-up?

Marc Cohen and Paul Weller should get together and make music. Both sound so similar.

Maybe these rain-theme songs will be the juju we need for some rain here in NorCal. We need it, badly.

Saw Marc play at Union Chapel, Islington North London UK in August 2017 - fantastic performance, superb artist.
zesty ! the slide guitar and horns very reminiscent to Lowell George and little feat groove on chilluns

I'll second that - no Devoto, no Magazine no joy.
Hey Bill!
How about the Howard Devoto song by this title? - it kills!

Wow, I remember this, it's Seattle's theme song, yet, Seattle people cut through rain like a warm knife through butter.
Even in a down-pour, Seattle folks look like they are walking through a light mist...

Such a nice set Bill has going here
I love how Bonnie Raitt is able to appear on a track like this and not upstage the main artist. That's a true pro.
Snow is here
I love the rain-related song set - it's absolutely pouring here right now.

This is pretty high praise in a land walked by Giants.
Good to hear something from him besides Walking in Memphis.
Ha! When I first glanced at this, it looked like you wrote "Wanking in Memphis", and I couldn't agree more. This is much better. A very professional musician with peerless production and wonderful backing. Manufactured and packaged soul, but sometimes a fast food burger really hits the spot. This is pretty high praise in a land walked by Giants.
Thanks RP for turning me on to this (and many other) song(s).

Even if that is true, that doesn't mean it is very good.
I can't past the cheesy pop production. I have a soft spot in my heart for Marc Cohn - I bought his first album and this one too. But it is hard to listen to this song now without wincing a bit.
90s bluesy pop was never done better.

Sounding almost like Leon Russell - and what do you know - Leon Russell (It's a Hard Rain Gonna Fall) is next in line. Bill - how do you do that - its just brilliant.
Sounds like she's playin' a little slide too. Sounding good it's got that Little Feat feel.

Rather nice. Laid back. diggin' it.
I wouldn't say "puke," but it's sorta ho-hummy bluesy. The music is good, but I think that the vocals are a little melodramatic.

Guess I shoulda backscrolled!
I would recognize Bonnie Raitt's slide guitar anywhere.
EXACTLY. This song is entirely deserving of its luscious production. 90s bluesy pop was never done better.

No use discussing taste with someone whose eloquence in songcomments doesn't go any further than "puke" or "awsome".
Ugh! reminds me of Rod Stewart.
I agree with "puke"!

Sounds nothing like Bolton to me.Bolton never sounded this relaxed and funky.
The only thing more depressing than the rainy season is this song. C'mon. Barf.

I really, really dont like the "Walking in Memphis" tune, but this one is GREAT...
I need to hear more!
"Feels like rain" and "The Rainy season".....perfect songs to go with a rainy day!

Nice voice and a great set of rainy songs for this rainy day here in Florida.
A big part of my formative years and beyond. Timeless.
Sweet, sexy voice. I like!
What a sweet voice
Mmmm... I was just thinking about this guy. Thank you, thank you.

No personnel, but a very Feats-ish feel to this one...nice.
Wow, what a nice track to pull out of mothballs! Fantastic production. All around good tune.
