I'm driving in my car
And a man come on the radio
He's tellin' me more and more
'Bout some useless information
Tryin' to mess my 'magination

When I'm watchin' my TV
And a man come on to tell me
How white my shirts can be
But he can't be a man
'Cause he doesn't smoke the same cigarettes as me

When I'm riding around the globe
And I'm doin' this and I'm signin' that
And I'm tryin' to make some boy
Baby, baby, baby, come back
Can't y'see
I'm on a losing streak

When I'm riding around the globe
And I'm doin' this and I'm signin' that
And I'm tryin'
And I'm tryin'

Great cover ... A well done 'covers song' has the potential to connect on a whole other level of artistic impact ... making art of another's art ... so different yet still familiar. There are so many ...

All Along the Watch Tower - J Hendrix
Purple Haze - The Cure
Crossroads - Cream
Must be Caturday today at RP. From a Cat Power song to the Stones’ Stray Cat Blues. 🐈

I prefer Devo's cover of this Stones choon, but it could just be me

For fun, I went to look at the RP ratings on the Devo version. Even more polarized than this one, unsurprisingly I guess. I can’t even recall hearing the Devo version on RP.
As another commenter said, I heard the Devo version before I ever heard the original and (at that age at least) preferred the cover.
She’s so good with the covers - brings something fascinating and new to the careworn
I note the mixed reactions from the RP audience. What I like about this cover is that she never once sings the chorus ("I can't get no / Satisfaction") so it almost becomes a completely different song.
I'm sorry but after hearing this a few times, and trying to like it, my feeling is this was a waste of time and I'll be asking Alexa to skip when it comes on. To each their own if you like it...

umm google DEVO and Satisfaction
What an excellent back-announce by William after this song ended!
kinda 'Cobainesq'
This song is a little too tedious and noodly for me, but unlike the loud and raucous Rolling Stones version, I can now appreciate the full lyrics.  I don't think I'd ever actually understood them until now.
That is the best description I've ever hear about how Chan Marshall interprets a song. Nice one Bill!
This is just pure crap. Are we feeling sorry for "Cat" because she's strung-out? Make this go away.
Took me until the second verse before I realized what she was singing.  Polar opposite of the Stones or Devo versions.
Thank you Bill for the most important SKIP button
Just love hearing her voice is all.

I grew up loving the Devo version and didn't know it was a cover for some time. I still prefer the Devo version to the Rolling Stones version. I like this version too!
i can't get no ...

Sorry Bub  that's just a stupid comment.

Agree totally!
An eight+ for effort!
Her cover of Fortunate Son" was excellent.  This?  Mmmm ... not so much.

Trying too hard I think - all the essence of the original is gone, with (for me at least), nothing to replace it.  It just feels, well, dead...
Having spent hours in the 60's listening to the Stones, and Satisfaction was a big part of that, it's really neat to hear this take on it. Very nice.

And then RP follows this with the Stones' "Living in a Ghost Town". Fabulous programming!

"Satisfaction" is about rock-n-roll. This ain't. It's un-listenable.

An old favorite small time band I used see (Jackpot) did a fantastic slow version of Hell's Bells. It took a full verse or more to finally figure it out because it was so unexpected. It was about this slow.
Always nice to hear a cover that completely reimagines the original.

Wow, she definitely made this her own. Very cool.

I agree.  When I'm working and a song wanders into my consciousness, that's usually a good thing.  And the lyrics would wander in occasionally as well.  I knew it was a cover but not sure of the artist.  Like it.
reminds me of the Cowboy Junkies cover of Sweet Jane, same formula anyway.
"And now for something completely different..."
Love all of her work, but the earlier albums are a favorite.
Wow, she definitely made this her own. Very cool.
nice sultry cover!{#Cheers}
