Not familiar with that particular song, but I'm glad that this song does NOT remind me of Joni.  Definitely gets a higher rating that if it had.
Hmmmm, me always like
An instant mood-enchancer
Most excellent

Listeners in Iceland: 1.

VERY DISAPPOINTED.
My mondegreen of the day - "Oh, Hermione"
Now I can't un-hear it.

Doesn't surprise me.  Sadly a lot of people at RP don't seem to appreciate music that's not Euro-centric.  I gave it a "7" but my rating may go up with repeated listening.

My friend from Ethiopia was helping me do some work in Norway
over polar circle  where I live now ... Radio Paradise is with me when I work so he became RP listener after he heard this song. What a great radio

I'm sipping a glass of wine with the same note.

Remember:  6 is still "Pretty good"!
Just Lovely  !  Thanks for sharing this with us mr Radio Paradise :)

Voice has some Joni sounds for sure. Range aplenty

I'm not even sure "Euro-centric" spans the small variety of musical genres some RP listens seem to limit their tastes to. Maybe "America-centric"? Even that is far to broad in scope given the cultural diversity available even within US borders. Far too many folk seem to have trouble with anything smacking of "you ain't from 'round here" - with "here" having a seemingly very small reach. Which makes me wonder (all too often) why they're even listening to RP?

RP has a "World/Etc" mix, where you can find non-European and non-American music.
This album is great and many songs found their way to my "Sunset Playlists"
Just try it in that timing!
As always thanks RP for the introduction <3

I agree. Was surprised to see it only at 5.9. Gets an 8 from me.

This song has been getting airplay on some of those so-called "smooth jazz" stations in this region.  Interesting.  Nice stuff...loving the world music played on RP.  Thanks Bill!{#Meditate}

p.s.
The artist information links for this song are completely wrong.  They refer to the 1958 musical "Gigi"...
Here's the most correct information I could easily find:

This is sort of a world music version of that Lily Allen song.
I heard this from a far and thought...is there something wrong with this record? It's skipping or something...then I realized. Thankfully this is not one of the Putamayo songs I have had to endure over the years. Ever listened to the children's one? Three little monkeys swinging in a tree? Pla-eeeeze shoot me now!
Unfortunately any song included on the Putumayo compilations are no longer enjoyable for me. I have to listen to them at work....going on 5 1/2 years now listening to the same songs over & over.

I agree--great album!
She's got ebola?
the background vocals during the chorus are simply annoying.

Correct. The specific language is Amharic. Might I note Amazon info is often excellent and a click away.

scuse my ignorance. What language is this?
What a sweet clear voice! Her singing just wrapped me in warmth, and had me head-bopping before I realized it.
