I've got 4 early Hawkwind albums that I haven't listened to in 40 years and pretty much forgot what they even sound like anymore. Fell way off my radar by the end of the 70's. Hardly any amount of airplay here in Cleveburg by then.
I guess it's time to go dig em out and give them a listen. Sooner than later I hope.
Rip em, grade em and sell em. So many albums and so little time ... sigh.
the name sounds familiar, but i can't recall anything memorable maybe if i listened to some of their stuff it might ring a bell i'd be interested in listening to your end result regards

It briefly threw Bowie off his game when, in Baton Rouge mid 70s for the Stage tour, he introduced Simon House and a larger-than-expected contingent of people in the crowd all yelled HAWKWIND!
What's funny is years ago, a friend put me in a Hawkwind fan group on facebook, probably because I'd mentioned Lemmy in some conversation. So at the time, I don't think I'd ever heard Hawkwind but the group was fun so I stayed in but the longer I was there, the more determined I became to never actually become familiar with any of their stuff. I'm sure I'd hate it for the most part but there are some overlaps in personnel and 70s gigs with bands I do like, so maybe. But anyway ... still haven't heard them.
I did watch some live snippet of Silver Machine(s) to see the dancer they were talking about. So I guess that counts.
Out of genre, No.
But the queston, as always is what to choose...
Definitely not Silver Machine and try to avoid straight nostalgia
My own opinion ,with limited time to revisit the back catalogue
, focus 1972 1975ish The early 1990 period was cool too
No particular order.
Spirit Of The Age (Later mixes better when possible)
Space is Deep
Chronoglide Skyway
Wind Of Change
ââ
Its So easy
Quark Strangeness and Charm (quirky)
Now, where do we fnd suitable parts of RP mix to insert any hawkwind?
That's the skill.
Difficult.
But ,yep i have a soft spot for Hawkwind too.
And, no ,I would not submit above as requests without much ,much more work... limited to 3 choices eek.
On reflection, out of genre ? I still say no. I'll enjoy Hawkwind for the foreseeable, but the genre is already covered and editing music is cruel, but necessary.
I've been a RP listener for quite a while but I don't think I have ever heard a Hawkwind track, are they off genre?
just wondered ð
